ok when i try and make a circle or a square or anything nothing happens
Its like the mouse isnt listening or somthing.

look if you dont have your opacity to 0 %.

Eeeemm.... I don't really know. Perhaps the pen tool is set on white colour? Try to check that or to change the color selected.
I know that seems stupid, but it's the only think I can come up with by now.

ive had that problem thousands of times. Thats usually it. CHeck the Master Opacity bar too.

Other possibility? You might be trying to draw on a locked layer.
That happens to me too, sometimes.

Or, if it's not a problem with Inkscape, maybe your mouse is broken.
