Yep, the following kids/teens are about to take a fateful roller coaster ride.

What Character Classes do they become?
What Magic Weapons do they get?
How will they deal with Dungeon Master?
And of course, will they survive?

Ash, Misty, May, Dawn, Brock, and Max(Pokemon)

The Leaf Villiage "Rookie 12"(pre-Chunin Exam)(Naruto)

Mahora Academy Middle School class 3-A(Negima) -- Although how they fit 30 teenage girls and a ten-year old all on that one car is beyond me.

Scott Summers, Kurt Wagner, Kitty Pryde, Jamie Madrox, Rouge, and Lance Alvers(X-Men: Evolution)

The Gundam Pilots(Gundam Wing)

The Runaways

Huey and Riley Freeman, Caesar, and Jasmine (The Boondocks)

The Teen Titans(Animated)

Feel free to add any other groups you like.

What would happen if you threw the most obsessed-over characters around and stuck them in the same situation as the ol' D&D cartoon. Fancy.

Unfortunately, I can't help much. But this will be interesting to browse over once in a while.

Wait, what?

This. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=KR-3phs7e2Y)

An old cartoon about a group of teenagers who get dropped into a fantasy world via an apparently cursed carnival ride.

Scott Summers, Kurt Wagner, Kitty Pryde, Jamie Madrox, Rogue, and Lance Alvers(X-Men: Evolution)

Scott becomes a Warlock after finding out that the damage dice from his eye beams stack with Eldritch Blast.

Kurt becomes a Scout, because his teleportation counts as "distance moved" for the purposes of the Skirmish class feature.

Kitty becomes a Spellthief, because attacking opponents while phasing through solid objects causes them to be flat-footed, and thus always take Sneak Attack damage.

Jamie becomes an Expert/Exemplar who pumps his Craft skills through the roof and uses his multiple bodies to mass-manufacture items.

Rogue becomes a Beguiler who runs around naked and casts enchantment spells such as "Suggestion: Poke Me".

Lance becomes a Sorcerer/Incantrix who applies the Explosive Spell metamagic feat to his Earthquake mutant power for massive damage.

For completeness, Charles Xavier becomes a Warblade who then Iron Heart Surges his paraplegia away.

I'll take a shot at the Gundam Pilots from 'Wing. Note, I am attempting (but failing) to incorporate personal aspects, and aspects from their machines.

Heero: Barbarian with a Brilliant Energy Greatsword, to replicate his "thermal energy" sword thing or whatever it is called. Zero System = rage. I would hesitate to give him his BFG because something that good would be on artifact level and it would make the whole setting smell like a Gouda factory.

Duo: Cleric with Death and War Domains. He is "The God of Death" in the series after all. Must carry a Scythe, and would probably be vorpal. Since he is the dedicated divine caster, he is oblidged to go zilla with his scythe as much as possible, healing is optional.

Trowa: Every group needs an arcane caster, although wizard type classes may not fit him, he could easily be a blaster sorcerer or a warmage. Just load him up with flashy spells that go bang, and he is set. He gets a backup adamantine dagger. Alternate: He is evidenced to be good with animals, and druid may not be so outlandish for him.

Quatre: Would probably be a paladin due to his gentle loving nature and always offering surrender. Fights with dual Kukris. However, since he does go crazy(when he blows up a colony), we could hypothesize that Quatre could become the traitor and become a Blackguard.

Wufei: Becomes a Rogue or Scout he single handedly infiltrates an enemy base, and gets out among other stealthy and rogue feats. His weapon needs to either be a partisan or trident (if we go off his Gundam) or a single handed sword (I don't remember his exact weapon from the series right now.) Alternate: Wefei could become a monk or Swordsage, or multiclass. Plenty of potential here.

Dealing with the Dungeon Master: They would just treat him as they treated those who gave them their orders, until the power of plot dictates otherwise.

Survival: Good chances as long as their sanity remains intact. However, this is questionable as each character goes insane at least once over the course of the series.

On another note, what about doing the Eva pilots?

Negi is obviously some sort of Eldritch Knight

Asuna is a Fighter

Nodoka is a Diviner/Rogue of some sort

Yue is a Blaster of some sort

Setsuna is some sort of Half-Celestial.. maybe a Warblade?

Evangeline is a Vampire Necromancer or Wizard.

Kaede is.. well whatever she is it's awesome and she's probably higher leveled than most people.

Chisame is an epic level Wizard. Because she's my favorite <_< (No real clue actually)

Too lazy to think of the rest of them.

Gu fei becomes a monk.

The robot girl declares she's a effiggy and proceeds to stack as many templates over herself as possible to justify all her powers and incredible physical stats. Failing this, warforged juggernaut with mage slayer?

The others I can't remember their names. Who had the idea of making a series with 31 main characters again?

Ash, Misty, May, Dawn, Brock, and Max(Pokemon)

They all fall off as the ride moves and are crushed beneath the tracks, making the world a better place.

I'm pretty sure she's Half-Demon.

Kū Fei. In the english versions. Gu Fēi is the Pinyin romanization.

Why would Chachamaru go uber? She's been quite docile over the series, except when ordered to fight by Evangeline. Unless you mean Chachazero, who would just be an Animated Object.

I'm pretty sure she's Half-Demon.
Oh right, I had only remembered she had Angel Wings, though I don't think she's a demon.. Wasn't it just a 'curse'? I can't remember quite well.

Sometimes when describing her I exaggerate her as "A Catgirl Lesbian Samurai Angel Chick", the catgirl part coming from the prolonged period where it seemed half the characters donned cat ears for no apparent reason (Not that I'm complaining), her included.

I will take a stab on this one.

Shinji would be a fighter/barbarian, maybe with a few levels in ranger (favored enemy: Angel and archery combat style) and the Coward flaw.

Asuka would be a barbarian/frenzied berserker.

Rei would be a knight (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20060501a&page=2), with low charisma and therefore focused on keeping others alive instead of using the various challenges.

Nope, Half Demon. Bird Clan I think (hence the wings). She's also an Albino (hair dye and contact lenses).

I may have to use that description in the future, and I offer no complaints as to the cat-girl ears.:smallamused:

Lesbian? She refused to kiss the girl she was suposedly in love!

She's just a confused half celestial who never got enough contact with male humans.

Because she was embarrassed. She wasn't comfortable with the situation, because of her feelings for Konoka.
And again, half-demon. She is the daughter of a human and a Crow Demon, and was cast out due to this and the fact she is an albino.

I find this westernized term offensive.

(And no, I actually am not familiar with Mahou Sensei Negima, apart from what TV Tropes mention.)

Not on the list, but I'm going to go ahead and toss in the heroes from Xenogears because I happen to be listening to music from it at this moment.

Fei Fong Wong-
The obvious choice here is Unarmed Varant Sword Sage who goes into Shadow Sun Ninja. Complex Martial arts manuvers, topped with over the top flashy effects for the best ones? Definitely.

Elhaym Van Houten-
A blaster Wizard, despite their un-optimized ness. She can kick a lot of butt physically, but when a single item in the game turns her into a Disk One Nuke, she has to be a caster.

Bart Fatima-
Fighter into Exotic Weapon master with a pair of whips. Definitely.

Rico Banderas-
A grapple-focused barbarian, because he's big, beefy, and resistant to damage.

Emeralda-
A tougher one. Druid at first I guess Probably with the shapeshift variant. Warshaper? Master of Many Forms? She uses her body as a weapon in very amusing and damaging ways, but she also has powerful magic.

Billy Lee Black-
Dual Wand Wielding Artificer, it's the closest you can really get to his guns and myraid magical powers.

Maria-
Probably an expert. Who happens to ride her Warforged Titan Cohort into battle.

Citan Uzuki-
Citan is too awesome to be rendered properly without him gestalting three classes at once. At least.

Citan is the greatest swordsman in the world, an expert scientist, a master engineer, the main character's mentor without ever dying, perpetually the most intelligent person around, a spy, a Double Agent, one of the approximately ten people who actually knows what's going on in the world, one of the earlier generation of heroes, keeper of the backstory and also has a pretty swordfighting wife and an adorable daughter with mysterious powers. In a mild subversion, despite being that awesome, he really is a Geek deep down, and doesn't really like having to be a Magnificent Bastard. He does it anyway.

* Not to mention that while his Gear is rather mediocre ability-wise towards the end of the game, he is perfectly capable of gettting out of it and slaughter Gear-sized enemies on foot - and is better at it than most Gears. Talk about Bad Ass.
o And he's only 29!
* Of course, we can't forget that he also effortlessly pilots a Heimdal, a Gear that was deemed too difficult and dangerous to control for anyone to use.

Yeah, some sort of Factotum//Warblade//Artificer monstrosity of ultimate doom would be Citan.

Tengu

Emeralda is probably some weird sentient construct with lots of spell-like abilities.

And I agree on Citan's awesomeness. When he first joined the party, he was so powerful that I thought he's one of those Training Wheels Overpowered Characters That Assist You Early In The Game Then Quit - but not only did he not quit, but also lost his only weakness - mediocre damage potential - later when he got his sword.

When you go almost twice as fast as everyoe else, mediocre damage potential is barely a weakness. And Citan always did awesome aounts of damage, even before getting his sword. It always hurt when he was forced out of the party. Especially for someone far less cool, like Bart.

And I've got it. Emeralda is a Warforged Druid with some weird house rules. As if a Warforged Druid wasn't weid enough on it's own.

I might do some other random people from other random games later.

Bart ain't uncool... the only Xenogears character that's annoying is Elly when she turns into "useless love interest" mode.

Well, and Chu-Chu a little bit, but she's comic relief anyway.

I suppose uncool isn't the right word. More like, trying to see Mercury when Looking directly a the sun when comparing him to Citan.

I like Elly. I use her for the first disc a lot because I can. Too bad about what happens to her.

And we do not speak of Chu-Chu. For it is an abomination unto our great Lord Uzuki.

Tengu

Understandable - even among cool characters some are cooler than the others.

And I liked Elly too, when she wasn't in the "useless love interest" mode. Although, being a caster specialist, she's very underpowered after the first 10% of the game. And I still haven't finished the game (stupid discouraging second disk) so I don't know what's with her in the end - don't spoil it to me, though!

And while Chu-Chu is rather annoying, she has some amusing one-liners.

Why am I sidetracking a thread again?

My two pennies: Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I can only really do Buffy...

Buffy would probably be some kinda Epic Monk or something, with some kinda oath to destroy the vampires (could give bonus). High Spot and Listen. Decent Balance. High stats.

Because Xenogears is an awesome game. Nad yes, she is underpowered right when you get her because she has no deathblows when your other characters have several thanks to those damned sewers. Oh how I hate those sewers.

Anyway, back on topic.

More random characters.

Georg Prime (Suikoden 2, 5)-
The reason Gerog Prime Wears an eyepatch is because if he looked at you with both eyes your head would explode. That said, he'd be a pure Fighter, fosucing on the longsword and taking the Weapon mastery tree all the way up to weapon supremacy. Not too effective in D+D, but fuggin awesome in the lower magic universe that is Suikoden.

Ziggurat 8 aka Ziggy (Xenosaga Series)-
A half-golem monk. WIth a couple choice items to somehow let him add fire or electrical damage to attacks.

Shion Uzuki (Xenosaga Series)-
Defintiely an Artificer. Her MWS would be approaching artifact level in D+D terms, but the fact that she gets new techs as she levels is easily represented by her adding new activated abilites to a complex magic item.

MOMO (Xenosaga Series)-
Probably a cleric archer build with a brilliant energy longbow. We'll ignore her ineffectual rod in the first game.

Jr. (Xenosaga Series)-
Possibly a Ranger, assuming he could get self-reloading hand crossbows and dual wield them. The buffs on a Rangers expanded spell list match some ofh his powers inthe games.

Jin Uzuki (Xenosaga 2, 3)-
The Diet Coke of Citan. He's pretty smart, but mostly a swordsage with a katana.

Cecil (FF4)-
Ummm...yeeeaaahhh...Paladin? Maybe? :smalltongue:

Rosa (FF4)-
Another cleric archer, though much more focused on healing. No Brilliant energy bow either.

Kain (FF4)-
A warblade with heavy armor proficiency, a nasty spear and a preference for Tiger Claw's jumping manuvers.

Rydia (FF4)-
A blasting Wizard with a selection of high-powered summoning spells.

Edge (FF4)-
Ninja with a little master thrower thrown in for good measure.

Wow, I play too many RPGs. I'm realizing how similar characters can be. I guess that's why we have tropes.

How about the cast of the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya? :smalltongue:

My quick take:

Haruhi would be a homebrew "Hero" class.
Mikuru would be a sorceress with some healing powers.
Yuki would be an assassin.
Kyon would be a Knight
Koizumi would be a bard.

What the -?

Haruhi is some sort of Charisma-fueled Factotum. (.../Thrallherd?)
Mikuru is a Hexblade. Her moe debilitates all around her.
Yuki is a Truenamer, houseruled to work right.
Kyon is a Bard (he is the chronicler... and the witty one... and knows so much about so many things while claiming not to).
Koizumi is a Psion/Loremaster. Or just longwinded.

Semi-off-topic: I've actually been developing a remix of the old cartoon as a story concept for a few weeks now. Problem is, I had to throw out or reverse almost all of the conventions immediately  Most importantly, I came to the conclusion that I had to define why each of the characters *want* to stay -- otherwise they have to fail every episode.
