Subspace signals picked up from the stations outside of the Kuiper belt indicate two large combined fleets of Nipponese and Pirate warships racing for the outskirts of Sol system. They will reach Neo Kuiper's space borders in one month.

The UNS has activated its anti-piracy fleet, 15 Immigration-Class Strike Cruisers and their complement fighters and deployed them from their advance bases around the asteroid ring to standby in orbit around Jupiter.

March the 26'th War breaks out

The new Supreme Commander (Highest Leadership post in TU, currently Excelsior for as long as chapter II lasts) did not hesitate to take action to unify Latindom. Calling in the chiefs of staff the 15'th of March he ordered an all-out strike on southern BRINC-held Brazil. As the week passed, military after military disaster continued to roll in, the regular army were being chewed up by the static defenses that had been prepared for this moment ever since the Terran Union coalesced into one South American power. Troops fared easiest to the southeast where the TU had overcome static defenses to rob a few townships from BRINC. The army blanched with casualties. Their dead set morale wavered. It was an ill prepared war. No successful strategy had been devised to overcome these defenses other than an all-out strategic fusion bomb attack. Had it not been for the Bots and Compie drones operations supported by TU spies sabotaging the infrastructure and assassinating key military figures the offensive would have been driven back under the successful penetration of the BRINCs side of a nuclear artillery duel against tactical-strategic land forces attached to the army on each side. Many agents were killed but the better part of the force remained in the field with experience under their belt. The air force was equally unsuccessful, as the BRINC more than held its own Titans were shot down from the sky to bury the victims underneath it indiscriminately in the second-largest sky fortresses known to man.
With only a few gains to show for massive casualties and the loss of BRINC face to Antarctica the Chief of Strategic forces came to the interpretation that orders were orders. An all-out strike was ordered on everything in front of their troops advancing in under AI and SI (sentient Intelligence) cover. Within hours half of Brazil was covered in inland lakes. Two thirds of the fortified population in their laser domes, plasma-shielded fortresses and particle-shield protected cities... even those underground prayed to no avail.
This resulted naturally in a massive counter-bombardment by the strategic BRINC forces on duty to deter enemy attack by retaliation. It killed many Argentinians (22 million, 3 points) and a fair number of AI programs and fleshmen in Antarctica 12 million, 2 points) but not nearly as many as the Brazilians had lost (6 billion, 300 points).
The ecological impact will likely lead to a new ice age as even now the skies darken and snow falls around the world on unfortified citizenry.
The surviving spies were mostly massacred by the WMD falling on enemy territory and landscape and kicking up such craters around the lake spy-remnants were found as far as Sao Paulo and UNS Panama, causing the loss of an entire espionage column on the TU's part (- espionage).
The Brazilian intelligentsia on their hand, figure out what's about to happen just three days before it happens, and the spies, followed by a stream of refugees and defeatist politicians attempt to cross the border. They succeed, but the spies are identified by vigilant TU police counterespionage forces and are executed while the others are taken into custody as are the civilians of the unblemished areas of Brazil soon under the Union's control they are shuttled south in armored cars, trains and select officials in passenger aircraft.

As to the huge disparity in the loss of human life... the TU defenses held up against the BRINC fussilade. The lonely BRINC shields in Brazil isolated from other territories was no match for an entire third of the TU arsenal))

Defense rating? Somewhere between 400-5,000, hard to say, noone has tried invading it, but it should be hard or very hard. Some people think the AIs will fold if their bunched up factories are taken out... or if some sort of chain reaction could be set off in the missile silos then it could blow off the bottom of the Earth. :P

A Major Military Victory was had in late March around Terra by the combined forces of the TU and ADL over BRINC.
On the first of April the UNS launched a major attack on the Golden Triangle and Hainan island.
In early April the Space Papacy complained off the nuking of Brazil but supported the TU in its attempt to unify the continent and bring lasting peace to the region.

The TU with aid from the ADL indiscriminately fire upon BRINC civilian space domes, vaporizing the heavily fortified stations with antimatter bombs, and sending the rest plummeting down with their more conventional nukes, neutron bombs, lasers, plasmas, artillery, railguns, missiles and other conventional ballistics to crater the Earth and explode into the sea creating tsunamis that wipe out the squatters and indigenous populations of small islands resettled since the Third World War and Unity Crisis (WWIV).

In Late April the IWC finished moving large troop divisions, aircraft and naval assets to its African territories from Venus by battlestations, civilian transport ships, carriers and battleships.

Between March and May BRINC successfully establishes a foothold in Venezuela, landing agents and increasing dissidence in Colombia (but losing most of the agents deployed) and pushing back TU forces and utilizing tactical nukes, killing half of the remaining survivors in the northern campaign, which means a return fire of TU forces, destroying a third of Venezuela and killing half the BRINC forces there. Asteroids drop on Antarctica, destroying one fifth of its installations and killing one third of the human citizens and one fifth of the AI.

This means a full nuclear engagement.
The WMD-equipped Arcologies, Antarctica and TU Latindom with their orbital weaponry launches on India and Brazil and Russia, killing seventy percent of the people in China, fifty percent of the people in India and ten percent of the people in Russia.
In return Antarctica and Latin America are subjected to the full BRINC WMD armory, which kills thirty percent of the surviving population in Latin America forty percent of the surviving AIs and another fortyfive percent of the surviving humans on Antarctica.
The ADL then launches and utilizes their orbital battlestations and a few of their arcological weapons and wipes out the homeland population of Chinese citizens, kills another forty percent of Indians and fortyfive percent of the Russians.

In May two fleets, an Imperial and an American fleet having subspaced much further out come into relativistic resonance of the detectors there, they are within 7AU from Aquarious at a safe distance of the sparse 1,2 AU-wide system. The TU forces there go on full alert and mass at Agneta, the third planet 1,2 AU out as the Canadian and Imperial fleet close slowly and carefully to 5 AU by late May.

By June, ADL forces have repulsed a UNS advance, counterattacked and claimed Hainan and successfully defended Cambodia with TU garrisons removed from Vietnam. Northern and Central Vietnam falls to a concerted UNS drive down the coast, setting up the Golden Triangle forces of the Axis (TU and ADL) up for a potential wide flanking maneuver.

By December all BRINC forces but guerillas and insurgents have been routed from Brazil.... a defensive line is established as ADL reinforcement pour in and push the BRINC forces to northern and eastern Venezuela, holding a batch of land inwards towards the central from the northeast and the line of old TU fortifications and newly improvised BRINC forts as materials have not been pouring in from the motherlands of China and Russia as expected and India is busy fighting its own war to protect them. ADL and TU fleets blockade off the Venezuelan coast and a combined fleet merges up at Hainan.

Meanwhile the Nipponese claim Nippon after a fierce bombardment of defenses and the sons of Omega capture the Emperor in a sting operation from a BRINC battleship in orbit around Mars Astry with their heavily armored, stealthy substrikers.

The Imperial and American attack on the TU has not materialized.

Some Canadians and Canadian/Imperial Clones in Imperial Brazil, UNS citizens in Asia and Europeans in the Urals are also killed by stray nukes (mostly), neutron bombs, quantum bombs, antimatter bombs, and a plethora of biological, chemical WMD, genehack tailored viruses and psychic mental attacks on citizenry around Latin America by BRINC psycics.

Temperatures on Earth fall steadily then accelerate to fall an average degree of 0 degrees. All animal life not protected in human habitats die out. Humans outside of fortified settlements are hard pressed... by December 19% of them have frozen to death.
