Check http://www.theage.com.au/ and see if you recognise anyone.

(Not sure how long this'll last, but worth grabbing a look)

As a born Dutchman I see where the article is coming from (At 6ft1 I am barely average in height and I must admit to the occasional pang of jealousy on the subject :smalltongue: ).

Nice to see that they used Death's little helper to illustrate the point. Not so nice, that I cannot find any reference to OOTS or the Giant, so it seems they just took the image without giving proper credit. Or did I overlook something?

OMG that is so awesome!

No, I don't think you overlooked anything. Just a fan working for the newspaper, I'd guess, who somehow managed to slip it past their editor. Still, a reference would have been nice.

If the Giant lived in Australia, we would have a slight conflicy on our hands...

After working for an online publication for three months, I can tell you that it's most likely someone just googled "short men" and nabbed whatever picture they thought most amusing.

Next question: where precisely is that image from? Looks like the Dungeon of Dorukan.

The same article is on Yahoo News, but Death's Little Helper is nowhere to be seen... :smallfrown:

People have seen Elan appear in a crossword puzzle, and not a gamer crossword, and now Belkar makes the news!

Where else have Our Heroes appeared, besides officially approved goods and services?

Maybe we should ask the powers that be to post a sticky thread dedicated to spotting OOTSers which appear randomly throughout the web?

YEH Australia gets its moment in the sun HOORAY WORSHIP ME YOU FOOLS BECAUSE I AM AUSTRALIAN!

I eat meat pies (ah actually I'm vegetarian)
I follow the AFL (actually I don't know the names of any teams)
I play cricket (nup)
I feel a connection to Australia! (I hope to one day move to England because we don't have gaming shops or conventions)

OK maybe I am not the model Australian but at least I saw the picture before I read about it in the forum. I had no idea until I opened the age online web page and :belkar: in fact the age is only a Melbournian news paper so we are superior to you all, even Sydney which is probably trying to milk our fame.

Likely someone pointed out to them that they were using a copyrighted image to promote the article, and they took it down.

For those who missed it, it was an article on "short man syndrome" which, on the "paper"'s cover, it showed our favorite sexy, shoeless god of war
