GAME RULES:
http://www.heartless-angel.com/YuGiOhAbridged/YuGiOhAbridged_Movie_Part02.jpg
Monsters:
You have a monster zone, this is called "the upper level dungeon zone". It has a limit equal to your wisdom halved. So someone with 10 wisdom can have five monsters out at a time.

Monsters cost mana to bring out. Mana will be talked about later..

Traps/Spells/Feats/Powers:
All these things require mana too, and are played in "the lower level dungeon zone". It has a limit equal to your intelligence score halved. So someone with 10 intelligence, they can have five of these type of cards out at a time.

Healthpoints:
Every player startsout with healthpoints equal to their charisma score x10. So Someone with a charisma of 10 has 100 healthpoints. When a monster is destroyed in battle, it's controller loses 1D healthpoints. And sometimes monsters can attack players directly. (Most usual when there's no other monsters to attack)

Mana:
For mana, you roll 1D x4. At the end of your turn this mana fades away. Mana is vital to playing any of the cards.

1D?
You'll hear the "D" a lot. D is short for dice, as the only dice used in duel monsters is the d6. Most of the time involving multiplications.

Monster Combat:
This is where things get interesting. Generic Monster 1 and Generic Monster 2.

Generic Monster 1
Alignment: Lawful Good
HP: 20
STR: 2
ATK: 1

Generic Monster 2
Alignment: Neutral
HP: 16
STR: 5
ATK: 0

Generic Monster 1 can declare one attack during your turn (as that's the only time you can declare an attack) sense there's no other monsters in play to target, he has to target that one. They fight.

Generic Monster 1 rolls 1D times his strength score. So 1D x2. He rolls 6, so 12 damage.

Generic Monster 2 defends, rolls 1D times strength score. So 1D x5. He rolls a 1. So 5 damage.

Neither monster is destroyed. If Generic Monster 1 had additional attacks, he could keep declaring attacks till they were all used up. At the end of a players turn, all monsters HP are replenished to full.

Deck Size:
Anywhere from 40-60. When you go to draw a card from your deck and can't. You lose the duel.

Starting Hand:
Seven cards, and you draw a card when your turn begins.

First Player:
To decide whose first in a duel, roll inniative. Novel idea huh? First player cannot declare attacks with his/her monsters.

The schoolbell rings, it seems it's time for school. If you go to class, Mr. Lancer will be waiting for you.

The girl next to you gives you a lecture.

She tells you about how you should spend less time worrying about children's card games and more time improving your grades.

The new kid seems to be glaring at you too. You notice he'd reading Nietzche.
(I'm not making this up, Kaiba is reading Neitzche in the first episode...)

The boy behind him raises his hand & says Mr.Lancer, we didn't have an assignment.

What in south beach diet is going on around here? I was sure I gave an assignment... hmm... then feel free to talk amongst yourselves as if school has no use besides keeping you off the streets for a couple of hours...

I'm going to read my card captor sakura...manga...that's what it is...
*Card Captor Sakura looks like she's in an awfuly suggestive pose for being a normal manga*

"Wait, what?" Connor puts his readied assignment in his backpack. He walks over to (wait, does doliest's character have a name?) and says "How did you do that?"

O'connor looks up and says,I'm really convincing....and lying is fun in case your wondering why I did that.

Connor looks at O'connor suspiciously. "Okay...if you say so." He takes out a deck of duel monsters cards and begins shuffling them acrobatically, absent minded.

O'conner looks at the cards and says"You play duel monsters? So do I, would you like to play a children's card game with me?"

Dorizzit
2008-03-15, 09:30 PM
"Sure. Sounds fun." Connor does an intricate maneuver involving bouncing a card off of his chin before setting his deck down on the table. "Do you want to break?"

O'conner says-"No, you do it." and pulls out his deck.

Dorizzit

((Um...you do know what breaking a deck is, right? In case you don't, it's the practice of allowing your opponent to shuffle your deck after you. This ensures that neither player can cheat using trick shuffling.))

O'conner sweatdrops as he hands the deck to connor and takes connor's deck and says-'I wasn't trying to cheat, no siree."

......A 1, how do I roll a ****ing one!?

Connor arches an eyebrow, but being a gullible sap he merely seems to find O'connor's theatrics odd.

After getting his deck back, O'connor rolls iniative-

O'conner looks at their similar results and says-"Isn't it weird how a children's card game relies so much on dice? Oh well this is a friendly game, how about you go first?"

Dorizzit

"Alright, thanks." Connor draws a card and looks at his hand.

While Connor is looking at his cards, O'conner is forging a letter that reads as follows-
Dear Mr.Lancer

We at the Teacher's Union have not been recieving your dues, and if we find any money on you or recently obtained porn, we are going to break your legs and steal said money and porn, we are sending this letter through a child we saw in your class.

Signed, The Teacher's Union

O'conner looks at connor and says-"Excuse me for a second, I've got to hand this to Mr.Lancer"

He walks over to Mr.Lancer and says-"Mr.Lancer some men told me to give you this." After Mr.Lancer finishes reading it, O'conner says-"Maybe you could give me the porn & money, so you won't get beaten up, and I can give them back tommorrow?"

Bayar

((Koga said he will PM the cards drawn...))

((...:smallannoyed:...I think he won't mind if I jury rig a system, since he isn't on; see my spoiler below for the details. I'll edit this post to reflect my actions soon.))

Alright, I don't know about anyone else, but I have ten separate cards in my deck, with 4 copies of each card. Hence, I'll use the forum roller to roll 8 (the number of cards I have drawn) d10, with each "side" corresponding to one of my cards:
[roll0]
[roll1]
[roll2]
[roll3]
[roll4]
[roll5]

and, of course, Mana:

((7 plus I draw a card on my first turn))

"Hm...yes, that should work. I'll open things up my Brown Goblin. With its effect, I can then summon three more Brown Goblins. Then I'll activate my Stealthy card. Finally, I'll play Swamp Kobold. Your move." He looks up, realizing the other player is gone. He waits patiently to explain his move upon his opponent's return.
