I've looked all thorugh Complete Arcane, Divine, Adventurer, Scoundrel and even Warrior, but there's NO decent enchanter PrCs. The only one I could find was Mindbender from Complete Arcane, but that requires a big dip in caster progression. Admittedly the abilities are pretty good, though the saves against them are low. Would I be better off going for full sorceror with spell focus instead?
btw, I'd prefer to play as sorceror rather than wizard as wizards have too many decisions to make at the start of the day, so if anything unexpected happens, you're a spectator (As I'm finding out in a current game where instead of scuppering ships as I thought the party would be doing, instead we're fighting vrocks.)

Beguiler 19/Mindbender 1

It's a 9th/10th level campaign. Why is 20th level always used as the benchmark for class progression? How many people actually get a character from 1st to 20th level? How long does this take?

Hm Beguiler 8/Mindbender 1 might work, I was looking for a full prestige class rather than becoming a dipper (Some of the other players are descending fast into munchkinery. For instance, a bard/dirgesinger who instead of doing a bard/dirgesingers job has instead wasted 4 rounds casting an array of buffs of himself so that he's very almost a fighter, and a paladin who took five minutes to work out how much damage his attack did because of the stupid array of spells and feats he has.)

Master Specialist from Complete Mage is a decent PrC for enchanters. The enchantment abilities are marginally weaker than the other schools, but you get some extra spells, Skill Focus (Spellcraft) and Greater Spell Focus for free, a caster level boost for enchantments, and the ability to charm people in combat without them getting a +5 bonus on the save DC.

Best of all, you can enter Master Specialist at level 3, so by level 9/10 you'd be well on your way to completing the class.

It does require you to be a wizard, though.

Perhaps it is because you failed to mention what level this character would play at in your opening post?
