Enhance Wild Shape spell (SC) question.

Hi all!

EWS from Spell Compendium, amongst other benefits, it allows the druid to 'gain the ex abilities of the enw form'. Since the druid should have the ex ability of the form already, what should I make out of this spell? Is there an errata where it corrects the wording to be 'ex quality of the form' or as such?

No, you normally don't get them. Search for Wildshape Errata on the WotC board : there's a summary of the latest rules at the beginning of the Master of Many Forms handbook.

Hmm, here's a direct excerpt from the MoMF bible:


all extraordinary special attacks possessed by the form. You do not get the extraordinary special qualities possessed by the new form such as darkvision, low-light vision and so forth, unless you reach MMF level 7.

Hmm, does ex 'ability' include both attack and quality? Then it'd make sense. Thank you.

That's correct. Normal Wild Shaping gets you things like Pounce and Improved Grab; using Enhance Wild Shape gives you a good reason to also turn into something like a bat because the spell can also give you things like Scent or Blindsense.

Hi

Good example is Driud 7/Mstr Many Forms 2 casts Enhanced Wildshape before he shifts into a Troll. Now has Regeneration & Rend abilities. (And can speak with other Trolls, etc).
