I have one letter for this one.

V.

424, it is.

I think my favorite strip in this entire comic is 424, so my vote is for it.

I'll go for the epic double-wide 422.

This one's for you, Redcloak!

I think we are going to get fed up saying "Wow, another great set - this is so hard to choose!" this hundred, but it is true again!

421 has a great first panel, but Elan's bumbling didn't inspire me to back this one.
422 has some great composition, and nicely pitches the tension for the coming battle.
423 was a really cool idea first time I read the strip, but for some reason doesn't weather quite as well as I remember, dropping from a 10/10 to merely an 8 ;¬)
424 is the perfect counterpoint to 423, played exceptionally well showing how well any of these characters can work now they have > 400 issues experience behind them. Ruined by the last panel though, that joke was truly awful!!
425 turns a wonderful emotional moment into a rules joke and back again, very nicely done.

After ruling out the first strip it is an incredibly close call and I'll take any of these as the winner, but I think I'll just edge my vote to 422. If in doubt, vote for the pretty one ;¬)

My vote goes to 422, because of the epic Redcloak awesomeness.

V's a nerd, and I like that. But Redcloak is a lot nerdier than V, here. So I vote 423.

SCIENCE!

Redcloak takes the win with 423.

I'm torn between Elan's incredibly badly mangled speech or V's awesomeness.

Hmm.

424 in the end. But it's damn close

424 pretty easily, but once again I expect the winner here to lose out in the next round.

It was a tough call for me, but in the end... "they may take our lives, But they will never take our freedom!... Unless they kill us, then animate our dead corpses as zombies to fight for them. Then I suppose they've taken our lives, AND our freedom."

421 for me.

Have Fun!

A good batch, as usual.

422 for me. An epic strip.

422 was beautifully done (Redcloak's last line about his mom just breaks me) but 424 has both V being awesome and a so-bad-it's-good pun at the end, so my vote is for 424.

For me the choice also comes down to 422 or 424.

I'm going to go for 422, but it's a close thing.

423. Boy, do I despise the idiotic and inconsistent physics of D&D. Progress through science for teh win!

424 for a display of awesomeness from V. "Then I suppose that I shall handle the three on the left", way to go!

(although 421 and 423 are close)

The poll will close on March 22nd, 00:00 AM forum default time.

Sorry to raise another "time concern" (which could make this the third straight controversial vote!) but does this mean the last day of voting is the 21st or the 22nd? In other words, do you mean midnight at the start of the 22nd or the end?

As for my vote? 424, edging out 421. Because paper beats rock.

again tough but 423 Periodic Bombardment gets the prize

Some classic gags in this line, but I think that Elan's speech in 421 takes it. You can almost hear the dramatic music swelling in the background, followed by the sudden record scratch after the zombification remark.

"Fight, fight, fight, fight the -" "You suck!"

Vote for 421, Oratory of the Stick. Terrible pun.

Even though Rock should beat Paper.....424

You mean, it should in the actual game of Rock Paper Scizzors, it should because it does, or it should in the context of the strip? Because in the case of the former two, paper actually DOES beat rock in the actual game, although it is an apples-and-oranges comparison. "Paper covers rock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_Paper_Scissors)" or something like that.

I count zero votes for 425. Wow. 424 appears to be running away with the win at the moment, with the other three in a morass further back. I was torn between it, 421, and 423; I'm surprised by 422's strong performance if only because, in my view, it doesn't have much going for it beyond the layout, which actually ruins my reading of it on my computer screen because I have to scroll horizontally.

426 and 428 are a nice pair, and Haley fans (as well as the "museum" crowd who liked 422, though 430 is also a factor with that group) will like 428 as well, but they may meet formidible opposition in the form of the V crowd voting in force for 427. If the Belkar crowd comes in for any strip at all, it's 429, while Xykon fans have 430 to root for. 427 is the only strip guaranteed to receive plenty of votes, but otherwise it's a wide-open morass that's hard to predict in the next round.

I love the speech. Everytime I see Elan, I think of Apple. They're so alike in personality sometimes, even though Apple totally has a higher Intelligence score. Wisdom, eh, not so much, Charisma could be improved.

*ahem*

421.

Epic always wins.

Unless Epic fails.

Morgan, when I said "March 22nd, 00:00 AM" I meant the start of March 22nd, not the end.
That's because the end of a day is generally marked as 23:59

To answer the question, rock should beat paper in the game, but it'd make a fairly boring game.
