Man, this is difficult. This arc is filled with awesomeness.

Well. I think I'm going with 430 just for the first panel. V in 427 is good too, and Belkar's bet and the cause of death for Roy is great. But that first panel... is epic.

430 for same reasons as ^.

Man, I feel funny voting against Vaarsuvius two sets in a row, but Haley was just too great in 428. "I don't know, I'm not done expecting other places yet".

If not for 428, though, it would be 427.

V is just too cool in 427 to vote otherwise.

(sigh) Another time question! You say "18:30 AM" but 18:30 in 24-hour time is a PM time. Was 18:30 (=6:30 PM) meant, 8:30 AM, or something else?

Right now, I'm having trouble deciding between 427, 428, and 430, and I'm withholding my vote right now.

I vote 428 "It's a shell game"

But V's spells "Mass*" are a close second :smallcool:

2008-03-25 18:30 EDT (New York) would be 2008-03-25 22:30 UTC (London)

I can recommand gworldclock (http://packages.debian.org/stable/utils/gworldclock) and tzwatch (http://packages.debian.org/stable/utils/tzwatch).

427 and 428 are pretty good, but I'll vote for 430

427

Not in particular for V, but for General Chang.

I'd go with 130.

Because it's just so awesome.

But I like all the ones with the dragon...

430 because that's when things started getting interesting and Xykon was so fun there.

tough between 427 for that being perfect in a movie
or
430 for the hilarious quote me and my friends constantly use "you're that guy! The one who got pissed off at me for not remembering-
"-something"
"GODDAMN IT!"
hmmmmm...
430 because it also has the barf part (not original but still funny)

430. The epicness of the first panel cannot be denied.

427 wins on by making me laugh the most the first time I read them. 428 is very close behind

Yendor

My explanation would consume more time than the vote itself, so let me simply say 427.

You're that strip! The one who kept getting voted at by me for remembering... 430!

kukn
2008-03-24, 07:07 AM
Damnit these strips are spectacular. Hard choice...

430. For the first panel and the last three panels. (The Star Trek and barf joke seemed pointless to me and actually detracted from the strip.)

Kol Korran
2008-03-24, 07:33 AM
i like 430. why? some of the reasons have allready been mentioned but mostly because of the ending. the main Villain not remembering the main protagonist is just priceless... priceless..

Man, I'll never get used to it.

It's 6:30 PM. or 18:30. Sorry again. :smalltongue:

I'll take 430. But it's a hard decision.

A hard decision indeed, very good string of comics.

I'll go with 430: GLORIOUS first panel.

Most of these time questions, I have some idea of what you mean, but I just want to make sure there's no ambiguity.

I'm going to have to give my vote to 427, by a nose over 430.

EDIT: On second thought, I'm changing my vote to 430 and wondering what I was thinking there. 427 is just too hard for me to read; if 424 is a moment of pure V awesome, 427 is a moment of pure V "WTF?"

I'll have to say 427 FTW!

Voting 430 for..... something.

Niknokitueu
2008-03-24, 01:15 PM
Well, it does look like 430 is going to win it hands-down, but I'll still vote my own way: 428 Haley ftw!

Have Fun!

427 - V is a favorite, isn't she? Honorable mention to the big reveal in 428.

Remirach
2008-03-24, 06:37 PM
I vote for 428. I was actually taken in by this scheme until Haley pointed it out -- it seems obvious in retrospect, but the skeleton near Redcloak did act passably like Xykon so it didn't occur to me that it might also be a fake.

Icewalker

I'm gonna vote 428. It's the most exciting out of them. Fooled the playground too.

Though I like the title of 429, my favorite here is 428. It has so much going for it: the explanation of a shell game (best I've seen), the subtlety of the wind (which started several panels before I noticed it), and the simultaneous sudden realization of what the wind meant. Plus some great lines, like "I'm not done expecting other places yet."

Wait ... Xykon is a triplet?

Felixaar
2008-03-25, 05:58 AM
428 was just to great. 430 was okay, but would have been better just as a splash page.

430 Rematch, definitely. Good stick figure art, even better humour.

dogmac

428. I was sure it was the skull at the back until this one.
and seeing that dragon for the first time was just magic

428. The rogue is in her element.

I can recommand gworldclock (http://packages.debian.org/stable/utils/gworldclock) and tzwatch (http://packages.debian.org/stable/utils/tzwatch).

As far as I can tell, FDT is actually Central time...

429. Though 430 IS very close. "Crap, he has GREATER invisibility?"

For a minute there, I thought we were going to get a rare round with TWO strips receiving no votes...

This is probably going to be my last round voting. I started voting for 427, then thought that's stupid and went to 430, and now the more I think about 428 the more I admire how Haley shines in it. But I'm not changing my vote again because I'm sort of pained for Roy and Hinjo as well...

As of right now, it won't affect the outcome, but the vote has surprisingly tightened in the last few days thanks to an onslaught for 428.

Morgan Wick
2008-03-25, 06:15 PM
Next round: 431 shows how to do exposition right, 432 fires off the silliness, "Duck... Duck... Duck... GOOSE!" is the main attraction of 433. But 434 shows why Xykon rocks and 435's only weakness with the Belkar crowd is the vote-leeching of 433, so one of those two might be the favorites though anyone has a realistic shot. There's a good chance the winner of the next five will be a sitting duck (no pun intended) for the quarter.
