For miniatures, which do you prefer: Pre-painted/assembled figures (ala WizKids, AT-43 or WOTC games) or unpainted, unassembled, do-it-yourself figures, like most other companies?

Personally, I prefer DIY figures, as they're usually cheaper, don't come in those asinine random booster packs, and most importantly, I can build/paint them myself. To me, building the things is half the fun. When I'm done, they're mine, unlike no-one elses, whereas one Super Battle Droid xx/xx is exactly like every other. Thus, I have an immense dislike for games like the clix games, where you need their figures because all the stuff you need to play is in the damn base.

On the other hand, I can see why people might like pre-made figures, as you can use thems traight out the pack, and people might no have the time/inclination to spend hours building/assembling models, and might like the surprise of opening a random booster pack. To each his own, I suppose.

What do you think on the matter?
