I've played through the original Titan Quest at least once, and I feel that the Thane I played was a very poorly built character, failing against the final boss every single time. I've been looking around for some other character builds to play with, but the only guide I've found on GameFAQs is incomplete and hasn't been updated in months. I was wondering if anyone else has played this game and what builds led you to success.

Thank you for your kind attention and advice.

The last fight at the end of TQ is hideously harder than anything else in the game (I have yet to finish IT), and I died a huge amount of times before winning. I'm not sure the build matters - you just have to keep plugging away at the wretched thing.

I had a straight Warrior (I think: specialises in hitting things...) and putting it mildly the ability to hit something hard with a melee weapon was not a great comfort to me :D

Easy Peasy!

This (http://vnboards.ign.com/titan_quest_character_class_build_board/b23099/103698432/p1/?7) is a compilation of builds. The last post has the best info, giving fully leveled up single class builds. just glue together what you want.

In Titan Quest, you're pretty much screwed if you don't have a proper build. It's also one of those games ware casters are crazy good. Go with ether Oracle (http://www.titanquest.net/forums/spirit/9479-oracle-build-compendium.html) or Elementalist (http://titanquestvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Guides.Detail&id=32) and you're good.

Use titancalc (http://www.titancalc.com/) for any ideas you want to try.

I'm more of a melee fan personally.

Suit yourself. I don't think I've played more than two D&D characters who weren't spell casters:smalltongue:

If you're still looking, maybe try here (http://www.titanquest.net/forums/skills/9500-titan-quest-builds-compendium.html)?

It's definately a good start. I'll start experimenting with some of these builds once I have a chance to install the game. Thank you.

Okay, I've narrowed it down to two classes that look appealing, both with solid builds. Thing is, I can't decide between the two because of the equipment sets that they work best with, which I've found on GameBanshee. Should I play as a Warden and wear the impressive Alexander's Panoply? Should I make a mace-wielding Conquerer and suit up in the equally badass-looking Armament of the Fiery Legion? I can't decide!

Alexander's Panoply (http://www.gamebanshee.com/showshot.php?/titanquest/setitems/images/alexanderspanoply.jpg)

Armament of the Fiery Legion (http://www.gamebanshee.com/showshot.php?/titanquest/setitems/images/armamentofthefierylegion.jpg)

I know that legendary items like the sets I'm drooling over are hard to come by, but I plan to get my paws on them if I have to farm for a year!

Any advice?

So no one has any reccomendations?

Isn't it better to make the character first and worry about finding equipment, which may or may not drop, later?

That said, Conquerer and Warden are both very solid builds.

Well, the thing is both builds I've found are going to be rock solid. Since survivability isn't as much of an issue I'm starting to take a look at style, since having a collection of equipment picked up at random that doesn't match tends to make your character look silly (a problem encountered in many RPGs). While I know that character building isn't about style, the builds look so equal to me that it's a toss-up between them.
