I just got the Adobe Master Collection (I love it). Now, I'm looking in to getting a decent tablet to use with Illustrator. I don't know much about tablets, but several of my artist friends recommended Wacom. I don't need a big one, as long as it's dependable.

Well, a Wacom Bamboo will only set you back $80 or so. Graphires are more expensive, and Intuoses are the highest quality. The sizes are 4x5 (way too small), 6x8 (good), and 10x12 giant super-awesome.

You can order all of these online from Wacom's own website. The Intuos 6x8 (http://www.wacom.com/intuos/6x8.cfm) is a good choice, and seems to fall into your price range nicely.

I have a question for someone who regularly uses either the Intous3 or Graphire tablets, does the 1024 vs 512 points of resolution play a large effect on its use, specifically for drawing/painting, etc? Ie, is the Intous3 really worth the extra $100 bucks?

Also you can get a pretty good deal on both the tablets Intous3 and Graphire 6x8's for $270 and $200 on Amazon, respectively.

RandomLogic, considering that you have a space of a few mm above the screen to make the push, 1024 v 512 is unnoticeable. Once you go beyond 128, there really isn't a difference.

Moon_Called, there's the Bamboo, which is sub-$100. Cheapest you're going to get, sorry.

Thats pretty much what I figured. Especially with art where the technical precision to a pixel isn't a big deal. Thanks!
