I based it on a recurring joke me and my brother had about Krusk, the orc in the player's handbook. I was gonna name the characters Krusk, Regdar, and all those people, but decided against it.

Plus, barbarians don't need intelligence, and Half-orcs/orcs get a -2.

So the orc in your comics has 16 tops, and Paladins don't even need intelligence. They need Wis for casting, Cha for turning, Str for attacking, Con for living, and maybe the lightly armored ones need Dex for dodging. They are NOT the skillmonkeys.

On a different note, I already have a lot of the jokes planned out for the next ten pages, so expect the best, and if it's not funny, then sorry.:smallamused:

On the webcomics forum, it had 300 views and like 5 responses after 4 weeks.

Sir, you must have been reading it wrong then. The bold, 16 font speech bubble is clearly pointing to Grogg, and the normal, 12 font speech bubble is clearly pointing to Kent.

Okay, I got two characters that will be a couple of important NPCs that the story will follow at certain periods of time. They're basically the 'Comedic Relief' characters (not really since it's all supposed to be funny. They are Kobolds who end up altering the plotline without actually encountering the characters. They're forest Kobolds, but I did try the light color; it looks a little tacky. These are based on my cartoony paint versions, and I wanna know if I should change to a realsitic style to see if it looks better :smallbiggrin: Does it?

Also, I've posted the Monster Manual's image of a Kobold. I think the skin is a little darker than Rich Burlew's Kobolds.

Heh. I like it so far. One thing, however: Try not to overuse Grogg. He's really funny, but if he's your only source of humor, he'll get old fast. Not only that, but he'll overshadow your other characters.

Of course, it's only four strips in. It's looking great so far.

(The ranger knows how to scent areas around the camp and hide the camp, so they'll be safe. It'll explain it better in the next comic involving Grogg and Avir.)

2) The spell (ray of enfeeblement?) could use a bit more contrast. In the first reading, I didn't see it at all and thought that nothing happened in that panel.

I made the spell (supposed to be magic missile) look more contasting and I aimed it at the spider's head instead.

Indeaded was supposed to be a made up way to say 'Killed', but, Szilard, did you assume that or is it a real term?

It's not that hard to figure out when you realise something's wrong but I would recommend redoing it, but if it's being read downward you only really need to move the top right bubble down a bit I suppose. It may be better to lose some of the dialogue if it's too cramped.

Sorry about the double post... I'm returning home today after being up north for two weeks without my desktop (which has inkscape). My laptop is a mac, and though there is a mac version of inkscape, it requires x11, which my mac self terminated because it thought it was a virus. I can't download a new one because it didn't delete the record of it still having it, etc.

...Ok. I had a brief stop back home, and I was able to finish comic #14. It's been a while since anyone has posted here, but it hasn't been TOO long. At least, I don't think it has :smalltongue:

Comic 14 is up nonetheless, though! Better yet, I have an official posting schedule I will try to follow. Starting Sunday, September 6, I will be posting a new comic once every week on Sunday. If I happen to finish an extra in advance, I will keep it as a coushin for if I forget to make one on a later date. If I have several finished at once by Sunday, I may sometimes post more than one comic. As soon as I can get my own laptop (or bootcamp for our mac, as the x11 version of inkscape is hopeless), I will be able to post on vacation and while up north.

hmmmmmmmmmm.........sorry this doesn't seem funny, I see nothing but a bunch of stereotypes and a normal adventure story, there isn't really anything about it that makes it funny, unique art will get you nowhere if your jokes are no good, and theres little character interaction, not a lot of depth.

I apologize if I sound like a jerk, but that is all I see in it.

OotS has made it the past one hundred strips without being funny.

SnD is sort of a different sense of humor. It's either very funny or not funny. Or it's not funny the first time through, but funny when you look at the random stupidity in the character's logic and plans. The major issue is lack of development, though (I think). Each one takes about six hours to do, and each only has 8 panels. It takes a very long time to do, and you can't rapid fire jokes when each panel takes forty five minutes to make. I have many ideas, but it may take a while to actually get to the pace where I can churn them out. (Chapter one was originally supposed to have about 20 pages, but at this rate it's looking like it's going to be at least 30).

OOTS has been just as funny as it has always been, its just that everyone else has let little details ruin the whole experience for them, I have not, and I know the whole arc is necessary to the plot, if I were in Rich's position I would done this subplot just like this regardless of peoples opinions.

as I have focused on the good things that has been happening in the comic recently, I have not let the little details ruin the experience of reading the comic, and I'm satisfied with how its going, I look at the big picture, and the big picture with OOTS is: good, I look at the big picture of Slice N' Dice, and I read bland.

I know this is a difference in opinion, not fact so I will refrain from arguing with you any longer as it might get the thread locked, and while I might not see the humor in it, someone else does, once again I apologize if I sound like a jerk when I say Slice N' Dice doesn't seem funny to me.

*Sigh* trolly trolly Troll. You don't destroy the PHOTO, you need to destroy the negatives and any copies that had been made. of course nowadays, now that everybody has digitial cameras, a picture can be stored in hundreds of hidden places all over the world within seconds.

I'll make a new one soon. The only problem is the length. You can't do much with 8-panel comics, but when the art takes even longer... Six hours per 8 frames is rough. Once I get better and begin to be able to reuse images, it should improve. My planned jokes will get funnier than my improv, though.

I'll try to make a comic ASAP. I have been on vacation for four days without internet. I have a ton of homework tomorrow, and I have karate, so I probably won't be able to do it for awhile. Expect it by this Sunday, though.

I'm not entirely sure what she just did but certainly she's a crafty one

She jammed the spear between the doorknob, the torch, and the wall. Now, the door is jammed, and the kobolds are trapped inside. The spear is thick and sturdy enough that the kobolds cannot hope to force the door open without help from the outside. I'll probably make that more clear as she explains it to the group in a later comic. I made record time, though. This one took me less than 2 hours :smallsmile:

It might be more clear if in the last panel she wasn't standing in front of the door and spear. It would be more easily noticed that she jammed it there, and that she wasn't just standing there holding it or something.
