438 "I hope he doesn't notify Roy" HILARIOUS!

Must be 439.

Edit: I said "must" because it doesn't matter if you don't earn XP defating your enemy, "as long as you look really cool doing it", to quote Captain Scoundrel.

438. Nothing says love like a note taped to a hobgoblin-killing arrow.

436, cause I just love it when V is wrong.

I'm not a huge Belkar fan, but this is classic.

Hmmmmm 436, 438 and 440 are all good for different reasons

I'll go with 438 because I'm an Elan mark.

438, school is in.

kabbor
2008-03-31, 09:52 PM
While i am fully aware that the shoeless one will take this out, it is not my favourite. 436 gets my white pebble. Rich's poking fun at the forums endless conjecture on "What will happen to that arrow?" had me smiling.

I vote 438, mostly for the look on Haley's face when she's waving to Elan. That, and because it's not 439, and I don't want Belkar to end up winning the Best of... awards.

I'll take 438.

Another Belkar win, but it canīt be resisted, this strip is iconic, itīs a living legend...

349.

(348 was good aswell, and 346, but no one beats the Sexy Shoeless God of War!)

I'd say 439 deserves an award.

436, for the inability of Good to ever understand what Evil is up to until Good is in serious trouble.

Kurald Galain
2008-04-01, 07:40 AM
I kind of like 438, but 436 has some good lines and the bouncing arrow, so that gets my vote.

As much as I hate to give Belkar a boost, it just has to be 439 this time round.

It has, after all, generated his (arguably) best quote: "I am a sexy shoeless God of war!!!"

Have Fun!

Because Blackwing displays my own personal view and referral of mammals as 'mammal'.

"Screw that! You're on your own, mammal!"

Just because they lactate, mammals think they're SO superior!

I think it has to be 439 and the sexy shoeless god of war.

436 gets my vote (and btw, just 5 comics later Xykon makes a similar mistake to the one V makes here).

And I must be one of the few who finds "I am a sexy shoeless God of war!!!" just plain stupid.

recluso
2008-04-01, 01:01 PM
I vote 438.

438 is funny. Enough to be considered over 436/last two panels. And... um...
I feel uncomfortable with the problems V is facing, and the resolution in the next strip. Sorta feeling stupid in V's place... the excessive overconfidence, a need to be told to zap the horse, W.E.Coyote, trying Blackwing, forgetting its name, ouch, ouch, ouch, shame, o shame, I deny it happened. I am aware of the oracle's prediction but I didn't read the forums predictions around the arrow - which could've made that interesting enough to be decisive here.

I know voting for belkar would be a more effective king maker vote and therefore a better way to stand by V and I tried to convince myself to do so, but I couldn't get myself into a slaughter mood.

I'll go for 438

The idea of mixing an epic battle senario with schoolish character behavior is simply too hilarious. Sorry Belkar, but killing 100 low level hobos doesn't make you sexy. V could have done the same in a fireball or two.

I had to read the terms twice to choose. Since the question is which is my "favorite", I pick #439. But 438 is the funniest of the bunch.

Elan is so classic.

This one really made me smile. Even in the midst of this dramatic battle, Rich found time for some cute romance and light comedy. Very funny.

439 is so over-referred to and over-favoured that we're tired of it, but there's a reason it's spoken of so often. It's simple and fun and a classic.

I vote 439.

Not a strong set for me, I remember being underwhelmed by 'shoeless' at the time and never really understood the appeal. Maybe because I'm a reformed Bajoist and this is just too Orthodox. Pleased to see it is not running away with the vote, even though it will probably win.

I'll go with #438, which really surprises me! I remember thinking this week at the time too, but something about the artwork has 'clicked' since then and it is way cuter in hindsight.

439 is too much of a classic not to vote for.

Though 439 will probably win, my vote is for 438 (though I just had to use Google to get the joke of the title).

439

I'm surprised it's not unanimous. Not because it's a cliche or because of Belkar's herd mindcontrol powers, but because it's such brilliant art. From the initial panel development to Belkar's victorious shout and the xp quip, it's just brilliant.

Emperor Demonking

438: The paladin is your pal.

Its a shame it won't win as it continues to keep up the humour all through the strip, and yes a great main joke that made me laugh out loud.

I vote for 438 -- nothing says "I Love You" like a valentine with an arrow through the heart.

Saint Nil

Tough call between 438 and 439 but, I'll say 438.

"What have I said about passing notes in my battle?"

Classic.

349.

(348 was good aswell, and 346, but no one beats the Sexy Shoeless God of War!)

You do realize this round's comics start with 43x, right?

It looks like an anti-Belkar contingent arose and attempted to push 438 into making it closer than even the vote count may suggest, settling on 438 after early vote-splitting with 436. I'm a little surprised 437 didn't get more love, but in retrospect I shouldn't be surprised about 436. 439 still appears to be the leader, but by only 5 votes. Might not bode well for it at BotQ time.

The "museum" crowd is going to come out for 443, but I would not be surprised to see 445 win in a landslide. Look for 442 to be a potential dark horse. 444 appears to be the runt of the group.

The poll is closed.

Okay, first a little explanation. I was sick last week, and couldn't finish the poll. I couldn't even sit at the computer. But here I am, on shiny new boots and smiling. :smallcool:

More to the voting, I did considered kukn's vote to be in the 430's, not in the 340's like he wrote. It was an obvious and common fingerswitching, you know. The middle and the index get kinda inverted and it's all a mess. Happens a lot. :smalltongue:
