I'll always have a fondness in my heart for the palladium system, since it was my first foray into the world of RPG's, but it makes me sad that they still run with a system older than me.

The system does get some incremental upgrades; not just the introduction of personal MDC, but more clear rules on penalties for difficult skill checks, how to handle ranged combat (increased minimum numbers to-strike), and things like that.

The end result is that everything published from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Robotech on is compatible with stuff published today. Your books bought 20 years ago are still useful sources of game bones and meat, not just meat... just plug them into the game. While the system is fairly old-school, and I do think they could use a lot more clarity of description, the fact is that it works for what it does.
