I believe this fits in the Gaming (Other Games) forum.

Also, I'm amazed at the amount of discussion your post incites.

(Kick me if 'incites' was not really the right word to use. Not nativ Englis speeker!)

(How can my post have been made at 12:04 AM? Wouldn't it be 00:04 AM?)

It was good, but I was really annoyed that you play Nero most of the time, not Dante.

Here's Yahtzee's personal thoughts on the game. (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/zeropunctuation/3001-Zero-Punctuation-Devil-May-Cry-4)

Indeed really fun
And Dante's a badass.
The only problem I had with it is over the course of the regular campaign,
you had to fight 4 of the bosses 3 times, and 1 of the bosses twice. :smallyuk:
Otherwise, yes. Very very fun. Bloody palace is especially challenging and enjoyable.

I'm with Yahtzee (mostly) on DMC4.

I really enjoyed Devil May Cry 4. Nero is nothing but a re-tread of Raiden from Metal Gear 2 but he's BETTER at being a protagonist by Raiden. Primarily, because....

1. His girlfriend at least has some small vestige of appeal to her.
2. She doesn't whine at you during missions.
3. I don't have to stare at his buttocks at periods.
4. He can kick some measurable amount of ass.

I miss Dante in the game but as Zero Punctuation points out, really the hero IS Dante for all appreciable levels except for his Raiden-ness, so we're not losing much. It's like playing Duke Skywalker from Tatooine whose father is Darth Black Knight, Luke Skywalker's grandson.

But it certainly satisfied my need for DMC after I finished watching the animated series for the 5th time.

Personally i thought it was the poor mans Devil May Cry 3. Way too much lazy design and level retread. Nero was a tad annoying and i felt that his big arm detracted from the combat system rather than adding anything.

I disagree, mostly due to the fact that there's very little similarity to Devil May Cry 3. It's more similar to Devil May Cry 1 in terms of Level Design IMHO. Nero's annoying nature, for me, was related to his voice actor.
