Greenscales, Checking in.

My initiative roll: [roll0]

Lemme know if you're buying anything. I don't foresee any needed purchases.

I'll be starting in B13, Guisarme in one hand, my single gauntlet on the other, a la Michael Jackson.

Yathor stepping on up.
[roll0]

Not buying anything. Not sure if I need to bring this up again, but after creation Karmic Strike feat was swapped for improved trip.

Yathor is wielding his spiked chain in square Z 13.

Edit: I am assuming we can always see opponent through the glass with only the concealment.

@ Refs

Can I ready an action to trip him as he comes into range, or can a trip be part of an Attack of Opportunity?

Waiting for a Ref's response before I end my turn.

High Ref Mav:

@Yathor

You can ready any standard action you would like, so readying an action to trip your opponent is completely valid.

Also, on an AoO, you can use any special attack, such as tripping, sundering, etc.

FlyMolo

Initiate Ref FlyMolo

experiment and refs Attack of Opportunity text says you can make a single melee attack, and Trip text says that a trip attempt replaces a single melee attack. So I think you can. I'm not that good at rules lawyering, so I'm open to another intepretation. I don't see anything to say you couldn't.

Ninja'd. Hard.

Just a note that a guisarme is a 2handed weapon, so you cant attack with guisarm and gauntlet in the same round. This is for future reference and does not influence the match in any way.

@talic:
How would you even hit him from 10 Ft away ?

Talic
2008-04-10, 06:33 AM
I know, on the gauntlet issue. If I ever intend to use an unarmed strike in conjunction with a guisarme strike, it'll be a kick at the knees, heh.

@bayar, refs:That's what I want him to think, too. You'll see.

EDIT: BTW, you're still up, the spoilers don't impact the match.

High Ref Mav:

Just a note. Expirement, we have ruled that readying an action in the arena is visible, you don't have to stat what it is just that you've readied an action.

See Talic's turn for an example of how this is most commonly done.

Also, Talic, expirement has an action readied.

Talic
2008-04-11, 04:39 PM
Your movement out of P9 triggered my readied action.

Free: As a part of my readied action, 5 foot step to N10.
Touch Attack (trip): [roll0]

If that hits your touch AC, then my strength check:

[roll1]

versus your dex check, I believe.

expirement10K14

[roll0]

As a question- Can you take a five foot step if it was not part of your readied action?

Talic
2008-04-11, 08:34 PM
You can ready a standard action, a move action, or a free action. To do so, specify the action you will take and the conditions under which you will take it. Then, any time before your next action, you may take the readied action in response to that condition. The action occurs just before the action that triggers it. If the triggered action is part of another character’s activities, you interrupt the other character. Assuming he is still capable of doing so, he continues his actions once you complete your readied action. Your initiative result changes. For the rest of the encounter, your initiative result is the count on which you took the readied action, and you act immediately ahead of the character whose action triggered your readied action.

You can take a 5-foot step as part of your readied action, but only if you don’t otherwise move any distance during the round.
Relevant portion bolded.

You may continue your turn. Round 7, part 2. It's no longer legal for you to make the move you did, as you're prone. Thus, you're not obligated to continue that action. Not sure on the exact rules on whether or not that move action is lost or not, but I'm willing to say that you still have both a move action and a standard available. Go ahead and finish out your turn, and I'll start up round 8, part 1.

Mavian
2008-04-11, 09:14 PM
High Ref Mav:

Just a point of order, not sure if it changes things any. Talic was wrong on trip defense. You use either Strength or Dexterity, which ever has the higher modifier.

Talic
2008-04-11, 09:24 PM
His dex has the higher modifier, which is why I stated that.

Edit: Post 22, activate Rage. That boosted my Str to 26 (+8 mod). If I used a +9 mod, I mistakenly added BAB. If that is the case, adjust it down 1 point. I don't think it makes a difference, but if it does, I'll be happy to reverse to that point.

Edit2: Automatically Pass the Trip defense, as my Str mod alone is greater than your roll, and ability checks to not fail on a natural 1. Will post my turn momentarily.

Talic
2008-04-12, 12:40 PM
Sure thing.

Grapple:

(+8 str, +1 BAB, +4 feat)

My turn. Using the following option:
Damage Your Opponent

While grappling, you can deal damage to your opponent equivalent to an unarmed strike. Make an opposed grapple check in place of an attack. If you win, you deal nonlethal damage as normal for your unarmed strike (1d3 points for Medium attackers or 1d2 points for Small attackers, plus Strength modifiers). If you want to deal lethal damage, you take a -4 penalty on your grapple check.

If we're still grappling:

Opposed check: [roll1]
Damage, if success: [roll1d3+8
