I originally started this thread on another forum, and decided to post here too.

Hey everyone, I want to start by saying just how awesome the people at MUSIC FM are, especially Gwyn, Gwyn, and, oh, Gwyn too. Without them, I wouldn't be here.

Alright, let's get started. The Gwyn Show, as hosted by me, Gwyn, will be playing all of the songs deemed worthy by Gwyn, one song a day, whenever the hell Gwyn feels like it. Every Saturday, one of Gwyn's friends gets a pick, and Sunday, you get a pick! I will be holding nominations for songs on Friday, and voting on Saturday! Occassionally, Gwyn's own band, Death Monkey's of Freedom, may submit a song or two. Check them out at http://www.freewebs.com/dmof/, or the infitesmally better fansite, http://www.freewebs.com/udmof/.

Originally, the band we're about to play were originally two bands; The Hollywood Rose, and the L.A. Guns. Together, they made the Guns n Roses. The original lineup was Axl Rose on vocals, Izzy Stradlin on rhythm guitar, Tracii Guns on lead guitar, Ole Beich on bass, and Rob Gardner on drums. The linup was eventually stabilized. The following; Axl Rose on vocals, Izzy Stradlin on rhythm guitar, Slash on lead guitar, Duff McKagen on bass, and Steven Adler on drums. There we go folks: the Guns n Roses, with, Welcome to the Jungle (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=xtXN_EHPwSg)

And,

I hope you enjoyed our last show. Today, I will be playing 2 songs from Swedish bands. One is punk and grunge influenced garage rock, the other is full out melodic death metal. The Hives, consisting of "Howlin'" Pelle Alqmvist on vocals, Niklas "Arson" Alqmvist on guitar, Mikael Karlsson Astrom, known as "Vigilante Carlstroem", also on guitar, "Dr. Matt Destruction", or Mattias Bernvall on bass guitar, and Chris "Dangerous" Grahn on drums, recorded their first EP, "Oh Lord! When? How?" to Sidekick Records, though as a band they started in 1993. They released this single, "Tick Tick Boom", in August, 2007. Lady's and Gentlemen, Tick Tick Boom, (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=rwhU99_66R8) by the Hives.

The second band was originally a grindcore group named Scum, and released a single demo, but later changed both their music and their name, to *Takes a breath* Melodic Death Viking Metal, which is the same as melodic death metal, but with norse mythology in it, and Amon Amarth, which comes from Tolkien, being the Sindarin name for "Mount Doom". The current lineup is:
* Nico Mehra − drums
* Olavi Mikkonen − guitars
* Johan Hegg − vocals
* Anders Hannson − guitars
* Ted Lundström − bass
In 2002, they released the album "Versus the World", and this is the first song on that album, Death in Fire (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=e-UbViuK4fY).

We at The Gwyn Show!! decided to skip Thursday's airing; in return, you'll get an extra large show on Monday.

The next bands I'm about to play both were stricken by suicide; one stopped playing, while the other, however diffiicult a hurdle it was for them, continued making music after the fact.

The first band forefronted an entire genre, grunge, and brought American music to the fore of the international consciounce, and was cut tragically short. The three man band of Dave Grohl (drums and backing vocals), Krist Novoselik (bass), and Kurt Cobain (Guitar, lead vocals) rocked the world, and where in fact named the "Flagship band of Generation X", giving them a popularity that Cobain loathed. Cobain had problems with cocaine addiction, and was sent to a rehabilitation center, from which he escaped, took a plane to Seattle, and apparently shot himself in the head. He died April 8, 1994, not long before I myself was born. The song I shall now play, their most famous song, was released in 1991, on the album that shot them into the national, and, nay, international spotlight, Nevermind. Lady's and Gentlemen! Nirvana -- Smells Like Teen Spirit (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=kPQR-OsH0RQ).

The August after Curt Cobain committed suicide, the Manic Street Preachers released their 3rd album, The Holy Bible. Richey James Edward did much of the lyrics for that song, as well as the cover; he did not play in the band much. He used to say "I can play a bit, but compared to James I can't play at all", James being James Bradfield, the lead guitarist. Richey was struck by the suicides of Cobain, and, around the same time, another school friend of his. They were just about to embark on a tour of the United States, to support The Holy Bible, an album that Richey had almost a free hand in writing, and deeply believed in, when, on February 1, 1995, he dissappeared. His car was found 2 weeks later at what would become a notorious suicide spot. The band still does not call it suicide, but a dissappearance. His family has not yet legally declared him dead. This is a song from that album, Faster (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=jeYbB_xC3fk).

Today is Gwyn's Friend's Pick!

The person who picked these songs is Gwyn's bestest bestest friend, Joshua Bui. Both of the songs he picked are songs I really like. Which I'm happy about. Yay.

From the Arctic Monkey's, Fluorescent Adolescent (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=ma9I9VBKPiw). The Arctic Monkey's are an Indie Rock group from Sheffield, England. They were formed in 2002, and currently consists of Alex Turner on lead vocals and guitar, Jamie Cook on guitar, Matt Helders on drums and backing vocals and Nick O'Malley on bass guitar, a position formerly held by Andy Nicholson.They started off as a viral band on the internet, and currently hold the record for fastest selling debut album. This song is from their second album, Favourite Worst Nightmare.

From Fall Out Boy, The Carpal Tunnel of Love (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=k3O5uy-MBBk), video courtesy of Happy Tree Friends (warning, extreme gore, blood, deaths of cute cartoon characters)
As in aside, Happy Tree Friends is the scariest thing on earth. One of my friends bought the DvD.:smalleek:
Fall Out Boy boy is a rock band from a Chicago suburb. They hit it big around 2005. They are currently still quite popular. I'm too bored to say much more about them, I'll do more tomorrow, how bout that?
