Elemental Grue (earth, air, fire, water) are in complete arcane.

I am not sure if there is a generic grue though, never saw the name come up in D&D anywhere else. was mentioned as one of top ten computer game villians: "You have been eaten by a grue"

It is dark, you are likely to be eaten by a Grue.

You gotta love Zork :P

And as far as I know, the elemental grues are the only forms in DnD.

Hm, looks like there are some ADOM fans among those writers...

Original grues are unstatted. If you have no light source, you die. If you do, they run.

Hrmm. Maybe we can work an "I attack the darkness" reference in there instead?

Do Grues even need stats? If it's dark, they eat you, otherwise, they don't. Pretty straightforward.

"The Dying Earth," by Jack Vance.

Seriously. Go read it now.

Hehe,

Ok if you think you are going to be eaten by a grue, then you should attack the darkness!

Attacking the darkness invariably leads to awesome. Either that or wasted crossbow bolts.
