'Ello! A while ago I posted an item called the Orb of Wonder on these forums. Well, since then the orb has undergone an... expansion. There are now three charts, with a total of 210 possibilities, with the most powerful ones being on the third chart (the one your most likely not to roll one).

As far as classification, I believe this would make it as a major artifact... anyway, here it is!

Orb of Chaos
Orb of Chaos
Forged by an, to put it politely, insane king, century's ago, the Orb of Chaos is an object that is quite literally forged from the essence of chaos. Since its creation, it has transferred ownership many times, its ability to give power to the user is surpassed only by its ability to take the users power, and even their life, away.

Chart 1
This small glass ball is painted completely black, except for the white dots that cover its surface. When a creature, person or anything sentient, touches it, it has a random effect. Roll percentile dice for the chart below to determine what happens.

1 The ball lodges itself into the hand of the user and randomly activates once every week. Only a Wish or miracle can remove it.

Chart 2

3 All magical writing within a 100 foot radius of the user is instantly erased (this includes all spells a wizard might have).
4 The user gains a pet rat. Treat this as if the rat was a familiar, with the users HD as the effective caster level for determining what abilities it has.
5 A butterfly continually flies 200 feet above the user. It is impossible to get rid of the butterfly (even by killing it), as it will simply regenerate any wounds given to it. The bird can only be sent away if the target gets a Remove Curse cast on them, or dies.
If the user goes underground, the butterfly circles at the precise spot the user is underground, 200 feet above the ground.
6 The user gains a wyrmling white dragon cohort. This dragon will faithfully follow the user’s word to the letter (unless this is something that would harm it, in which case it may disobey, and even attack with a feeling of betrayal).

In addition to the water, the sides of the lake become perfect beaches with white sand. The water becomes fully inhabited with creatures such as fish, crabs (on the shore and under water) algae, coral, and many other creatures. This lake may remain indefinitely as a self-sustaining eco system.
10 Trees sprout up in a 400 foot radius around the user, this becomes a thriving forest eco system, and even has a nymph with a grove at the center (the nymph has a gray render who has taken her under its protection).

32 Users face is horribly mutilated, the user has -10 to all charisma based skill checks, and +4 to all intimidate checks. A Remove Curse may remove this effect.
33 An great wyrm silver dragon appears 400 feet away and attempts to kill the user with all its might (not actively trying to kill any other creature that might be travelling with the user, but may catch them in the cross fire.). The dragon flies away after killing the target (or explodes into hundreds of rabbits that all hop away if it is slain).
34 User gains background music that only the user and their companions may hear. This music fits what they are doing perfectly (so spooky music as they’re going through a castle or the Jaws theme when a shark is coming to devour them). This gives them a +1 insight bonus to initiative, +1 morale bonus to-hit and damage rolls, and +2 morale bonus to all saving throws.
35 User may manifest powers as if they were a first level psion.

47 User sees everything as a series of numbers. The user can still see perfectly, as their brain adapts to read the code. The user gains blind sight out o 20 feet, blind sense out to 40 feet, and dark vision out to 120 feet. But, the user never actually “sees” as normal people do. While they can tell you the exact color of something based on the numbers they see, they themselves no longer remember what that color really is. They know it only as a word, not as a sight. As such, the user can never again see real beauty in the world, only a series of numbers.
48 The users head explodes, killing them instantly.
49 Users arm becomes a living snake. This snake may function as another arm, and is treated as a medium sized viper.
50 Needles burst through the user’s feet, dealing 3d6 of excruciating pain, and stapling the user to the ground. Only a DC 20 strength check can dislodge the user, and only a Remove Curse can remove the 6 inch long needles that protrude from the user’s feet.
51 User is forever called Jeffry by all NPC’s. No matter how many times the user tell them their real name, they always refer to the user as Jeffry (or Herold, if Jeffry is already the user’s name).
52 User grows a long stalk on which a mouth grows. This mouth is fully functional, and may be used to eat (its stalk is stretchable, so it can go out to a length of 3 feet, then shrink down to 3 inches in length).
53 Roll on third chart
54 The user gains the companionship of a loyal Pixie. This pixie acts as if the user is their best friend, but isn’t bound to them by anything more than that friendship, if mistreated, the pixie will leave. The pixie that appears cannot use greater invisibility at will, nor can it use otto’s irresistible dance.
55 User gains a snow sled, complete with a pack of sled dogs loyal to the user. This sled appears in the nearest space that can hold it.
56 A tear in the universe appears on the ball. The user and anyone, or anything, within 10 feet are sucked into the hole and remain there for three days, before being spat out at a random spot on the planet. The ball itself falls to the ground after 5 rounds, when the tear vanishes.
57 The users mind is overloaded with millions of images per second, detailing every event since the beginning of time. The user must make a will save of DC 30. If the user fails by 5 or more, they are permanently confused. If the user fails by 10 or more, their brain literally fries from the amount of information being sent into it, killing the user.
However, if the user makes the check, they have +15 to all knowledge (history) checks.
58 User becomes sterile.
59 User becomes an amorphous mass. This grants the creature the ooze subtype, save for the fact the character may shape their body how they please. Any armor or weapons the character had when they gained the subtype become enchanted with the ability to mold themselves to the characters form.
60 A masterwork longbow appears on the ground.
61 The ball grows spikes and deals 1D6 damage to the person holding it.

63 User grows a mustache with a length of 2 feet. This mustache cannot be removed by anything short of a Wish or Miracle.
64 User belts pelted from all sides by water. This water appears from thin air, in extremely concentrated jets. These jets make it nearly impossible to move, the character must make a DC 25 strength check to move anywhere (the jets follow him). The jets remain for 2d4 minutes.
65 User becomes living clay, gaining the construct subtype. Any limbs that are cut off the target may simply be reapplied by molding the limb back to the target.
66 User turns into a block of wood, for all purposes, the user is now dead.
67 The user turns into a sentient sword. The user retains all mental stats, and may communicate with the user. The sword the character turns into has an enchantment bonus according to their HD.
68 User’s mouth seals shut, but gains the ability to speak telepathically with a range of 120 feet. The user has a 5% spell failure chance with any spells that require verbal components, and may not ever use things that rely solely on verbal communication (E, G, truenaming, singing) ever again.
69 User gains a loaf of bread. This loaf appears in the user’s hands, if the user’s hands are full, the bread appears in a silk wrap on the ground.
70 User is transported through time enough hours to place them at exactly 12:00 AM
71 Users eyes melt from their sockets, leaving two empty holes, sealed with flesh. This permanently blinds the character.
72 Users stomach becomes iron… literally. User must make a fortitude save of DC 20 or die instantly. If they succeed, the iron becomes a living organ, providing +10 to all fortitude saves made to resist ingested poisons.
73 User turns into a sting ray
74 User gains +2 to all skill checks
75 User gains -2 to all skill checks
76 User is warped to the place of their birth
77 User is warped to the center of Alora. The character is instantly incinerated.
78 User gains the vampire template, and is then warped to whichever side of the world has sunlight at that moment. DM’s discretion on whether there is nearby or not.
79 User is surrounded by 12 level 5 paladins who all try their hardest o kill the user (is the user is evil, the paladins may use their smite). If all the paladins are defeated, their corpses (and equipment) turn into millions of pink butterflies that fly away. If the paladins kill the character, the paladin’s bodies melt into a puddle of flesh, bone, and blood.
80 User gains a Shield Guardian, and the amulet to control it.
81 User may smite evil as if they were a 20th level paladin 1/day.
82 User is warped 600 feet straight up. But, upon falling, if the user does nothing to prevent them from hitting the ground, they automatically talk exactly 1 inch off the ground then fall softly, taking no damage.
83 A copper piece 12 feet in radius appears standing vertically next to the character. Surrounding the copper piece are 12 halflings that chant in an intelligible language while bowing to it. If either the copper piece or the halflings are interacted with in any way (other than speech, to which they won’t respond) the copper piece explodes and deals 6d6 piercing/bludgeoning damage to all within 20 feet (reflex save DC 25 for half) and killing all the halflings instantly.
84 User grows bunny ears. These ears are purely cosmetic (the player may choose whether they have floppy ears or straight up ears).
85 A plate of Turkish delight appears in the nearest square that will hold it. These Turkish delights taste very good, but serve no purpose other than satisfying a sweet tooth.
86 User gains an ingrown toenail.
87 User now refers to all bunnies as Glomps, and all small children as Smurflings, whether they wish too or not.
88 User gains a duck animal companion.
89 For 3d6 hours, anytime the user passes by a person, the person who the user is passing by must make a DC 25 will save, or be compelled to tackle hug the character. This only happens once to each person (so a peasant wouldn’t keep tackling the character, they would once then probably walk away, utterly bewildered as to why they did that).
90 User gains a large sword. With a DC 25 knowledge (history) check, the character knows that it’s the Sword of Thundara, and that they can 1/day hold up the sword and say “Sword of swords, give me sight beyond sight” to gaze into the swords crystal hilt guard, allowing the user to use Scry.
91 User turns into a dryad that’s bound to a bonsai tree which appears on the ground in a pot.
92 User always emits an over whelming magical aura, even if holding no magic items.
93 User gains a cup of warm milk. If drank while still warm, while the character is trying to go to sleep, this milk provides +5 to any will saves made to put themselves to sleep.
94 A throne made out of thousands of skulls appears in front of the character (or in the nearest open space).
95 User gains a Deck of Many Things
96 User is warped before Tyranius. If deemed evil, Tyranius smites the character on the spot. If deemed worthy of living, the character gains a permanent +2 to all stats, may use light as an at-will power, may use Miracle once every 2 months, and is warped back to the spot where they were before being confronted by Tyranius.
97 User gains a pocket watch. Other than looking stylish and keeping time, this watch does nothing.
98 User may use cure light wounds as an at-will ability.
99 User, and his equipment, instantly become clean of all dirt, grime, and other contaminants.
100 User becomes a succubus.

Chart 3

1 Everyone within 30ft of the user loses all possessions, worn or not. These possessions are not retrievable by any means.
2 If the target is in a city, every building within the city smaller than a tavern becomes structurally weak. 50% of all these buildings collapse to the ground (possibly killing the inhabitants). If the user is outside a city, the earth is ripped asunder. The user and all within 20 feet are taken up by a mound of earth that rises 70 feet straight up, forming a ragged mountain with a perfectly smooth top (10 feet in radius).
3 If the user is within a city when this effect activates, all non-precious, non-magical metals vanish from all structures in the city, as well as all mortar, all cement, and anything else that would hold a building together. The city promptly falls completely apart. Those within the buildings of the city risk being crushed.
4 A meteor appears in space and sets a crash course for the character. The character is instantly made aware of this (though no one around them is) and knows the exact second that he meteor will strike. They also know the meteor will follow them no matter where they go, and always impact at that spot.
When the meteor impacts, anything within a 400 foot radius of ground zero suffers 20d6 fire damage, and 10d6 bludgeoning damage, and also must make a DC 40 strength check, for be blown back 5d20 +70 feet, taking the appropriate damage from that as well. No reflex save is allowed for either.
Anyone within an 800 foot radius take 10d6 fire damage, and 5 d6 bludgeoning damage.
Anyone within 1200 feet takes 2d6 fire damage, and may make a reflex save for half of 2d6 bludgeoning damage.
5 User must select one city that they know of with at least 5000 residents, to annihilate. If the character doesn’t mentally choose the city in question, a random city of at least 8000 residents is annihilated, along with all residents, buildings, and animals, leaving nothing but a flat plane, with the faintest outlines of buildings.
6 User gains the ability to use Finger of Death with a caster level equal to their class level 1/day as a spell-like ability.
7 The nearest ocean rises up 20 feet, possibly flooding coastal towns.
8 Orb splits into an identical orb, with identical properties, the cloned orb is in every way like the original, and may be used in the same way.
9 User gains +4 to all stats permanently.
10 User gains a +2 longsword, which turns into a +5 vorpal longsword when used on a horse in the middle of the night.

So, there it is... the Orb of Chaos. I'm not really worried about its balance, before thats brought up. This object is meant for fun, and comic relief. Feel free to use it for any game you wish (assuming anyone even likes it that is).

Anyway, good morning to you all, and thanks for any feed back.

EDIT: Whoops, messed up reformatting some <_<

Looks like chart 2 is just a copy of chart 1 but with a FEW changes (it even refers people to chart 2 on some rolls).
Also this thing doesn't seem harmful on balance...
