Estelindis made some spectacular ones with a different game. They are more accurate then I can get with WoW. LOTS more accurate.

You can only do so much with predetermined models. I had enough trouble finding a two-hander with a green hilt as it is. XD, I'll work on it, though.

I seriously doubt I can make monster-san (XD), but Miko's basically done, I'm probably going to make her in her normal armor, and Elan's next (Huzzah!)

Elan isn't the best. Human males don't have blonde hair, or Elan's hairstyle, I couldn't turn off the steroids, and I forgot his cape. Just thought I'd bring that to your attention.

I'm definately making :vaarsuvius: a bloodelf, and I'll toy around with Elan too. But due to WoW's cartoonish nature, if he doesn't look like Arnold Schwarzzenneger, he'll look like a supermodel.

Elan is turning out to be INCREDIBLY hard due to Blizzard's obnoxious taste in hairstyles. All the bloodelves have either long, flowing manes of hair, or two hairstyles of spiked hair. Been playing with the geosets, so I was able to turn off the eye glow, but I can't change the eyes from bright green, and I'm also able to take off the long ears.

Tsukiko? Sure.

Redcloak? Goblins look WAY too different in WoW, the OoTS goblins look more like WoW orcs, but WoW orcs are way too tall. So I'm pretty sure nope.

Xykon? Doable, but it would look incredibly horrible, and nothing like him. I could always try, though.

My bloodelf version of Vaarsuvius is up now.

Next up: Giving Roy his giant sword back, and taking him off steroids so he holds it in two hands.

To tell you the truth... As far as I'm concerned, Neverwinter Nights has been "where it's at" for the past six years. It has to be one of the (if not *the*) most moddable games out there; in fact, it was really *made* to be messed around with. And it doesn't hurt that it's actually based directly on D&D. :smallwink: Looks good for a game that's six years old, doesn't it? :smallbiggrin:

The one I'm least happy about is Belkar - I actually had to use a gnome for him, since the only bald male halfling head I could get had a monk headband. :smallbiggrin: Unfortunately, all the gnomes in NWN have inexplicably large arms... :smallsigh:

Anyway, with a positive reception like this, I think I'll make some more! Linear Guild, Team Evil, Sapphire Guard, etc.

I like how the NWN Haley seems to be blending into the background. Hide is, after all, her best skill.

And bulging muscles or no, I think the WoW Elan looked better as a human. But then, I tend to put more emphasis on hair for identifying people.

The lute isn't official NWN content - it's custom content. Like I said earlier in this thread, NWN is *really* moddable. This particular item was created by the wonderful Lisa - if you're looking for it, you can get it in her holdables pack (http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=3833) or in a big custom content compilation known as the Community Expansion Pack v2 (http://nwvault.ign.com/cep/). :smallsmile:

In case anyone is in any doubt, I have quickly made a NWN2 Roy. You will soon see that the games do not look very similar:

Thank you. And you'll be interested to know that, yes, it was really made using the NWN toolset! :smallsmile: Of course, I am using custom content. (It's been a long time since I built without it.) But I didn't edit the picture except to crop it for size. I presume this qualifies as not fudging?

If you want to know how...
Umbrella: custom holdable, available from the same sources I linked in my previous post.
Base model: standard (dynamic) human body, skin set to pure black, and all body parts except for the one hand holding the umbrella set to 00.
Shadow-stuff: wings of the human body set to "fog: black" (CEP2 contains wings and tails that utilise the game's standard VFX models).
Done and dusted! :smallwink:

I applaud your interest! It really is the best bang for your buck that you can get in a game at the moment. May I go so far as to suggest you obtain it legally? :smallwink: It's really inexpensive these days because it's so old, plus you can only play multi-player (which is lots of fun) with legal CD keys.

(I would hate to think that I had been the cause of anyone downloading it illegally - I regularly chat with some of the devs, and they are all awesome, so I wouldn't want them to be deprived of their rightful pay. Of course, maybe you were talking about downloading it legally. For all I know, this may be possible - I'm just unaware of it. I've just only ever downloaded adventure modules, not the game itself.)

MitD is in Darkness. It's not an invisible critter or anything. It is simply hidden from our view. So we need a deeper darkness here, maybe with what vaguely looks like a couple of large eyes staring out of it.

V still looks too male. That may be impossible to correct as the machinery tends to the ultra male or ultra female and humans are pretty good at guessing each other's sex as well, but we won't have a really successful V until we hesitate about saying "him".

I'll see if I can put together a Lord Shojo! Mr Scruffy will definitely be fine, as there is a little white cat in the CEP. And yeah, NWN plus all expansions can be gotten fairly cheaply if you look around. :smallsmile:

Not possible without trickery. There *is* a smoke elemental with two glowing eyes that could be used, but it doesn't have any nodes that hold things, so it couldn't hold an umbrella. I guess I could make an invisible creature with an umbrella stand beside it and, with the right camera angle, it would look like the smoke elemental was holding it... But that'd be a bit cheap, really. I'd feel like I was cheating. :smallbiggrin:

I agree! You are quite right in assigning the cause... The game doesn't really allow for an androgynous look (though, of course, with the right custom content, it could). The only elf head I've seen that could be either male or female unfortunately has an expression that looks a bit... wired. Like the individual in question had eaten *way* too much sugar! Plus it's a bit ugly. Ah well, I may hunt about a bit more...

well, V does get expression a bit like that when elan is singing the Concentrate song in book 1. Also, when haley orders V to apologize to Elan, he says "But my Charisma is..." to be cut off with "..Not my problem!" so you could make a case that you are representing his low charisma. Though in the strip it is more his social skills.

I *could* edit the PLT (a type of texture file for armour and body parts) to make him look happier - I edited the PLT for Hinjo's head to give it a goatee - but that might be going beyond the call of duty. :smallwink:

Regarding Nale's hair: true blonde is tricky. (It's all too easy to make hair look yellow, though. :smallbiggrin:) One might edit the base texture or the palette, though...

I agree about Sabine's hair, by the way... But there aren't any female heads in NWN with hair that is both long *and* very curly... Well, apart from one that looks like she had a frizz attack... :smallbiggrin: Witness:

Alternatively, there is a variant on the head I used that has longer but straighter hair... Also, I'm swivelling her a bit to show her tail (which isn't always visible from the front).

I am not aware of *any* heads that have very curly hair in a ponytail (i.e. Sabine's actual style). Maybe I should make one...

I haven't had sufficient Tolkien time on my hands for about ten years now (I was a super Tolkienite when I was fourteen), but I still know enough to be able to tell you that "estel" = high hope, "lin" = song (among other things), and "ndis" = woman. In general, though, it's more of a recipe for misspelling than anything else. :smallwink:

Yeah, I couldn't find a smaller gem. For a while, I was gonna use a blue dragon egg, but then I realised that that was also huge. :smallbiggrin:

EDIT: The best I can really do is position the gem so that only a small bit of it pokes through the throne...

Better team evil, but MitD should be peering out of darkness caused by the umbrella rather than seeming to be the darkness. By all accounts, MitD is as easy to see as any random creature.

Yay ZZ'dtri and Tsukiko are exactly how I imagined. But I didn't know that we had Drow race in NWN I, i thought it was in NWN II. Is it an expansion?

There was a "Tales of the under-dark" as an expansion for NWN1. Pretty sure that had drow.

Yeah, the second expansion pack for NWN1 is called "Hordes of the Underdark" and is rather excellent. (Plot is *way* better than the official campaign or the first expansion.) But, honestly, if I'd wanted to play a drow before that happened, I would've just chosen drow skin and hair colours and put "dark elf" into the subrace box. :smallbiggrin: Mind you, it doesn't give you the nifty racial adjustments - you can get those in NWN2.

By the way, David Argall, I don't think I'll be able to recreate the MitD perfectly. :smallwink: :smallbiggrin: It would take quite a bit of modelling gymnastics to create an umbrella that projected shadow (as opposed to a shadow beastie holding an umbrella), and I'm only just learning how to use 3DSMax now. :smallsigh:
