The Hayama are ninja clan, affiliated with no village and no country, only the birds. As neutral ninja, the Hayama sell their services as scouts, trackers and couriers to other villages that benefit from their expertise and efficiency. Most Hayama form animal pacts with birds of prey and favor techniques that imitate the swift, deadly hunting style of their companions.

----

Sora no Shijo (Child of the Sky)
Ninjutsu (Requires Moujuu Aishou (f)) [Hayama Hijutsu]
Rank: 3 (C-Class); Learn DC: 16, 3 success; Perform DC: 16; Time: 1 attack action; Components: C, H; Range: Personal; Target: You; Duration: 1 round/level (D); Saving Throws: None; Chakra Cost: 4.

Upon using this technique, the user's features become more feral, a natural predator. Her senses sharpen and movements quicken, hunting foes with deadly accuracy. For the duration of this technique, the user gains a claw attack that deals damage as per her size category. If the user already has a claw attack or the Feral Combat ability, she gains a +2 enhancement bonus to damage. In addition, the user gains a +4 competence bonus to Jump checks and always counts as having a running start. She may move at three times her normal speed while charging, but only while airborne. If the user falls unconscious, the transformation is instantly dispelled.

Tsumetsuki (Lunging Talons)
Taijutsu (Requires Moujuu Aishou (f) and Sora no Shijo(t)) [Hayama Hijutsu]
Rank: 4 (C-Class); Learn DC: 17, 3 success; Perform DC: 17; Time: 1 full-attack action; Components: M, Mas; Range: Charge; Target: One creature; Duration: Instantaneous; Saving Throws: None; Chakra Cost: 2

To properly execute this technique, the user must have the Feral Combat ability or a natural attack, and have enough space between herself and her opponent to execute a Charge. If the charge succeeds and the attack connects, the user applies her strength bonus to damage twice for this round with her claw or Feral Combat attack.

If the user is airborne while executing this technique, this attack does an additional die of damage.

Mastery:

With the fifth step of mastery in this technique, the user may instead apply three times her strength bonus to damage.

Hijo Tsuiseki (Heartless Pursuit)
Taijutsu (Martial Art, Requires Moujuu Aishou (f), Sora no Shijo (t)) [Hayama Hijutsu]
Rank: 5 (B-Class); Learn DC: 19, 3 success; Perform DC: 7 ranks (DC 20); Time: 1 full-attack action; Components: M, Mas; Range: Charge; Target: One creature; Duration: Instantaneous; Saving Throws: None; Chakra Cost: 6

This technique may only be used against a flying or falling target, and the user must have either a natural attack or the Feral Combat ability. The user launches herself into the air, executing a vicious aerial charge against an airborne opponent. This attack, if it hits, deals double damage and the target is knocked 1d6x5 feet higher into the air before falling to the ground. If the user knocked the opponent high enough so that it should normally suffer falling damage, the opponent does not get to make a Tumble check to avoid it, and the user lands safely on her feet.

Tori no Akogare (Yearning of the Bird)
Ninjutsu (Fuuton, Requires Moujuu Aishou(f)) [Hayama Hijutsu]
Rank: 6 (C-Class); Learn DC: 19, 3 success; Perform DC: 19; Time: 1 swift action; Components: M, F, Mas; Range: Personal; Target: You; Duration: 1 round (see text); Saving Throws: None; Chakra Cost: 3

Of birds, it is said that they dream only of the sky. To soar among the clouds is the greatest joy for all creatures that fly, and the hawks that bond with the Hayama clan share this deep longing with their partners. This technique allows a ninja to rise above the earth, sharing the sky with their feathered brothers, if only for a moment. Floating on a gust of warm air, the user gains a fly speed equal to double her base land speed for one round.

Material Focus: Long robes or a cloak.

Mastery
With the third step of mastery in this technique, the user can also use this technique as an immediate action, but cannot convert the Chakra Cost to hit points while doing so.

With the fifth step of mastery in this technique, the user may spend an additional 2 chakra at the end of this technique's duration in order to extend the duration by an additional round. The user may fly in this way for a number of consecutive rounds equal to one-half her character level before she must land.
