I've heard almost everything, a bear, a tarasque, an aquabeck, dragon, etc. I want to know what's the most logical choice for his mount.

Hippoboy

who knows?
but if i was a paladin i would have a hippo!

Superglucose

Horse would be the most logical choice.

Though if Dinosaurs are allowed, Triceratops would fit the 'tough' mentality.

He may not even have one... he was a Fighter for 12 Years, who's to say he even HAS 4 Paladin Levels?

You get Smite Evil at level 1...

No, if you want a 'tough' dinosaur you have to go with Euplocephalus.

It's freakin' eyelids are armored man!

EYELIDS!

And it's spelled Liopleurodon. It was a marine reptile during the mid-jurassic to early Cretaceous periods. It's jaws were as big as a horse.

Also, O-Chul's mount is reality itself.

Namely the horse of the 12 southern Animal Gods!

Turtle's too small. O'Chul needs a Large size or larger mount.

We are assuming he is at least a 5th level paladin for the purposes of this discussion, of course...

I see O'Chul as a traditionalist, personally, and that means a warhorse.

Kato
2008-04-29, 03:52 PM
OK, serious answer: either a warhorse or some kinda bear... that might fit his character.

But after all, he's O'chul, he can mount whatever he wants. (like the Snarl, some dragon, gods, any human (including, Haley, Sabine, V... and for all the fangirls out there, Roy, Hinjo, Belkar, Elan...)) Any objections? No? Thx.

Lumus
2008-04-29, 04:25 PM
I can't see O-Chul with anything flashy. Simple and tough; I'd go with a warhorse. Probably a friggin' huge warhorse but a warhorse none the less.

...Actually can you get dire horses? Forget O-Chul, I want one.

O-Chul's mount changes often. Today it is the Major Image of a Horde of Orcs. A few days ago it was the turtle. Before that it was the monster in the Darkness. Tomorrow? The next day? We may never know.

But, when the time comes, you may check the comic discussion thread for my words of wisdom.

Thus, I sincerely believe it would be a purply flying hippo. Yes, with a top hat.

And if not that, perhaps a huge cyclops that wants to bring about the apocalypse...

In all seriousness, a celestial rhino for O-Chul would be too friggin' awesome for words.

The Extinguisher

Maybe you're still on stimulated emission, but over here, we use Zimulated emission to amplify our light. And our bears.

O-Chul rides a wall. Nothing less tough would work.
Obviously, the wall has a high movement rate, because when needed O-Chul pushes it.

What about the Damned Crab?

Don't insult that Damned Crab by suggesting it would dare to deem itself to the lowly level of a paladin's mount, even if it is O'chul. You'll bring the wrath of Crabthulhu down on us all and my doomsday summoning rituals aren't ready yet!

Frankly, I think dire wolf would be a suitable mount for O-Chul. It's been done before, but so has Warhorse. Though if not that, I'd definitely go with Rhino.

I would be inclined to speculate that O'chul has some sort of cat as a mount. Perhaps an enlarged Tiger/Lion/Panther/Leopard? Wolves aren't on the list, so it's obviously a houserule that changes things a bit.

Laurentio
2008-05-02, 07:25 AM
Considering how stud, tough and unlucky O-Chul is, I put my money on a giant hedgehog. Saddle-less.

I strongly suggest some variation of horse, using the logic that the paladins of the modern Azure Guard would probably base their mounts on the mount of their ohsogreatlegendaryleader.

Something blatantly paladinic like an armoured Celestial Charger (http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Celestial_Charger). It probably has its own armour too.

Aaaaaand a shark for special occasions. Not with the "paladin mount" properties though, just pretty well trained.

And as for the turtle in #551, maybe he uses it as a skateboard instead of actually mounting it. That turtle also probably has ranks in wizard or other spellcaster that can cast Expeditious Retreat

A War Bear seems the most plausible choice for me (War Panda if you want to keep with the Asian flavour) or possibly a bull as that fits with the 12 Gods Motiff and what's frankly more badass that charging into a crowd of melee on an enraged bull?
I also like the idea of him having such a superhuman constitution that he actually runs in place of a mount but that's just harkening back to the old WoW beta days.

I wonder if it's possible to have a Clockwork Steed as your paladin mount... I saw it in a book somewhere, can't remember which one.

I still stand by my idea of a Celestial lion mount, but I do like the rhino idea. Anyone know what level you need to be to have a rhino?

(I ask because I'm considering building a Warforged Paladin- yes, you read that right- and was pondering what kind of mount would be able to carry a sentient para-construct from Eberron. Especially given he'd probably have the Adamantine Body feat at first level... that's a damn heavy paladin)

Considering how utterly awesom O-chul is, its deffenitly something dire. Maby even celestial. And probably something big and strong, like a bull or a rhino.

Or wait, maby he, using some obscure house rule, traded Holy Mount for an extra constitution boost? That would explain a lot.
