View Full Version : ANOTHER MitD Thread....

I don't know if this puny though of mine is even worth an entire thread, but here goes anyway.

I was reading the Monster Manual last night, and it says that Lantern Archons' light rays overcome all forms of damage reduction. True, they only deal a d6 of damage, but here's the way I piece it together:
1) :mitd: Is believed to have massive DR. That is why he doesn't seem to take damage.
2) Since he is ALSO believed to be a child, it would stand to reason that he has few Hit Dice, and thus a low HP count.
3) So, I can conclude that, however small their damage... those Lantern Archons from that strip whose number I can't remember actually could've KILLED MitD due to their light rays!!!:smalleek::smalleek::smalleek:

I'm not sure if this merits Organ-Harvesting, but I'll do this anyway:
May the power of the Eyes of Beholderdom protect my Organs. May those decrepid vultures take their foul harvest elsewhere. Now Begone, foul would-be Organ Harvesters! Shoo!

The MitD isn't considered to be a child. He enjoys Dwarf-sex and actually possesses complex reasoning ability... when he pays attention...

Well.... he's Child-ISH and immature.... sort of like Elan, actually.... you have a point, though.

Ummm... On the dwarf sex, it may be less "enjoyment" and more "wanna be like the big kids." Besides, watching other species mate is not so much "porn" as it is "Discovery Channel." :smallwink:

As for reasoning ability, once you work with kids for a while, you may be suprised by their capabilities. I taught school as a substitute for a year, and somedays the kids just blew me away!

Don't do this. Organ harvesting is reserved for threads that are posted a lot, not a thread that was suggested SIX FREAKING MONTHS AGO.

Thank you.

I have to agree, way to many people have begun organ harvesting for threads that don't come up too often. Come on people, save it for 4E, and Miko threads.

Actually, for further notice, I lack the following popular organs/bones:

Lungs (Beholders absorb oxygen through their skin)

All skeleton minus skull (I'm a floating head. What do you expect?)

Intestines & Bladder (Beholder's food goes strait from the stomach to the digestive process, and Beholders don't produce waste)

Pancreas (I don't need insulin or glucagon)

It's worth noting, however, for the sake of Organ-Harvesters, that a Beholder's optic nerves (I have 9) are particularly massive and powerful, and are the point from which the eye rays come.

We're not organ harvesting him. This is a perfectly valid thread topic.

Hey. I said I wasn't sure If it merited Organ Harvesting. I mostly put in the bold-italic bit 'cause I thought it was pretty good at the time.

I say it isn't, and I consider myself more of an authority than the OP :P

There are threads to debate Organ Harvesting. Can we get back to MitD and the Archons?

EDIT::: And I want my eye back! *takes eye*

I think it's only fitting that you get your thread derailed by the same acts that you perpetrate. Chew on that, buddy.

Yes, and by the same process, Mephistopholes (Or whatever) and a hellfire engine could finish him off pretty easily, assuming he has a much HP as you think he does, with their 10d6-20d6 Undeniable Damage.

Beholder1995
2008-05-03, 08:02 PM
Well, if something that does 20d6 damage overcomes all damage reduction, MitD could have plenty of HP and still be at risk.

Well, yes, the second most powerful arch fiend tends to be able to bulldoze through people like that. If not, they wouldn't be ARCHfiends!

Beholder1995
2008-05-03, 08:19 PM
Ah.... that would explain it. But just how many HP could MitD have? He certainly seems pre-epic, so he couldn't have more than 800-900 HP, right?

Scatman
2008-05-03, 08:54 PM
We wouldn't know how much HP he may have. No one's ever gotten that far past his DR. :smalltongue:

But it is safe to assume it's higher than 2-12, so being killed by lantern archons is pretty far out if your saying they'll both blast MiTD once. But it's probally possible if there are no house rules.

Beholder1995
2008-05-03, 08:58 PM
I was more thinking they could slap :mitd: around a bit with the rays, and that would kill him. Although I guess if he had any amount of HP above 30 or so, he'd be pretty safe.

TigerHunter

In theory, yes. In practice, Xykon would have zapped them before they could get a second shot in.

He does? What indicates that?

Beholder1995
2008-05-04, 08:06 AM
Well.... while he's uber-powerful, he's (probably) only a child, and he can fit underneath an umbrella.... so..... Dang. Well, I just can't imagine him being and epic monster.

I think the MitD is homebrewed.

I know my theory is kind of goofy, but it's the only one that actually fits:

Recognised, feared by adults, loved by some children
Powerful
Childlike
Learned Go, and is getting good at it
Massive DR
Stomp causes earthquakes

The MitD is Minya, son of Godzilla!

Or it's Godzilla when he was a child, since Minya is a bit obscure.

Possiblitiiieeesss!

Nothing is supposed to defeat him, but what might turn him towards your favor?

Nobody ever stops Godzilla, you just try to ride out the damage! But if you can direct him towards your enemies, your own position improves greatly.

To me, it makes more sense than it's an "Awakened Half-Fiend flind gnoll Tarrasque/Blue Dragon/Dragon-kin squirrel" or whatever combination someone comes up with, or the ever popular "Hi! I just set up an account, and I think the MitD is the Snarl... Why hasn't anyone ever suggested that before?"

The new spell: create power lines. That'll stop godzilla

Also which kids loved Godzilla? :smallconfused:

or are you refering to how kids like the movie?

On that note which kids loved MitD? Is it in SoD?

Kids have always loved Godzilla, even the Rugrats have their own Godzilla in the form of Reptar.

But the movie I'm referencing is Godzilla's Revenge (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064373/), who's main character is a boy named Ichiro Miki. Ichiro loves the monsters from Monster Island, and wishes he could go there one day to escape the bullies he faces at his school. Godzilla's son Minya is almost the same personality wise as the MitD.

And yes, in SoD:
The MitD was a circus act (freak show) performer. Most of the adults were terrified at his appearance, but the goblin kids thought he was cool. And the humans in that area didn't seem to have a major problem with attending a circus with a family of goblins.

I know Minya is really, REALLY obscure, but Godzilla himself is one of the best known monsters of all time. And certianly one of the most powerful.
