I am not sure if this is the right place, but I must spread the joy. After re-reading the Leauge of Extraordinary Gentlemen and re-watching Mystery Men I came to one conclusion and one conclusion only.

The League of Moderately Extraordinary Gentlemen.

I canvased opinion and several of my local players agreed on the condition that I use a Sci-Fi setting.

The premise? 5 moderatly important characters from famous Sci-Fi (member 2 streched this a bit but was funny enough to be allowed) have to save the day.

The party consisted of:

Marvin the Paranoid Android. Spent most of the game complaining in his oh so glorious way and then deactivated the doomsday device whilst the rest of the party where still arguing with the Big Bad over Health and Safety regulations (see member 3). In game no one ever noticed.

Baldrick of Mars. A squadie from the 1st army, 3rd phalanx, 2nd regiment, 3rd company, 9th squad, nicknamed the 6-ft-unders.

The Health and Safety adviser who never managed to arrive at the Death Star. Played beautifully with a gripping 9 minute speech on the rights of man to have at least a basic level of workplace saftey including a minimum 7ft clearance on all ceilings and doorways.

Doctor Simon Tam (Firefly) who spent most of his time trying to get a cup of coffee and re-attaching various bits of Baldrick.

Reg Barklay from Star Trek who ended up as party leader.

I have never had so much fun in my life. It turns out that the player who played Marvin went out of his way to memerise this song for the occasion. (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=n_sZD7ZnWvc)
