HALF-DRAGON

Description
Half-dragons are the spawn of lesser beings paired with dragons, whose many polymorphing abilities allow them to mate with nearly any creature they please.

Application
This template can technically be applied to any living creature, but it's preferable to limit it to Humanoids, Monstrous Humanoids, or Giants.

Size and Type
All creatures change their type to Dragon except for Aberrations, Undead, and Outsiders which remain unchanged.

Speed
All half-dragons gain a fly speed equal to twice their racial base land speed with average maneuverability.

Armor Class
+5 bonus to natural armor.

Blindsense
Blindsense out to 30 feet.

Breath Weapon (Su)
As a standard action a half-dragon can unleash a blast of energy of the same type as their immunity (see Immunities). All opponents within a 30-foot cone or 60-foot line (depending on heritage) take 2d8 damage plus an extra dice of damage per two hit dice the half-dragon possesses. An affected opponent can resist the effects with a successful Reflex save (DC 10 + ˝ half-dragon's HD + half-dragon's Con modifier). A half-dragon can use this ability only once every 1d4 rounds.

Darkvision
Darkvision out to 60 feet.

Frightful Presence (Ex)
As a free action a half-dragon can roar menacingly. All opponents within 30 feet who witness a half-dragon roar become shaken for 2d6 rounds. This ability affects only opponents with fewer Hit Dice or levels than the half-dragon. An affected opponent can resist the effects with a successful Will save (DC 10 + ˝ half-dragon's HD + half-dragon's Cha modifier). An opponent that succeeds on the saving throw is immune to the half-dragon's frightful presence for 24 hours. A half-dragon can use this ability only once every 1d4 rounds.

Immunities
Half-dragons are immune to paralysis, sleep effects, to the frightful presence abilities of dragons and half-dragons, and to one energy type from the following list: Acid, Cold, Electricity, Fire, Sonic.

Low-light Vision
A half-dragon can see twice as far as a normal human in moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination.

Natural Weapons
Half dragons have a bite, a tail, and two claw attacks which deal damage according to the dragon’s size.

Breath weapon shape should be dependant on parent variety, not player choice. Gold dragons can't randomly decide to have a line of fire, for instance.
