Sony will release a new digital episodic doohickey called "Qore" for North American playstation users. From what I can gather it'll be 1-2 hours show with exclusive content akin to the stuff you usually get in a magazine *but* with the added bonus of getting early download access to demos and access to betas. Also "other exclusive PS3-related video and game content" (wired link) (http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/06/qore.html). Episodes will sell for 3 bucks a pop and there should be 13 of them per year or a 25$ subscription. This will essentially make Qore the XBOX Live Gold of PSN (at half the price).

Ho-kay, I tried to be neutral on the subject until now, but the title of this thread might have given me away eh? I dislike the concept and I hope Sony chokes on Qore. I predict that users will buy single episodes for the sole purpose of getting into betas. For example, the first episode will contain an exclusive beta invitation for SOCOM: Confrontation. Rest of the stuff is pretty much accessible to the web for free as is. Gametrailers.com baby!
This is Sony testing the water, to see how we respond to paying for content. I would like to encourage people to offer Sony the "Talk to the Hand (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk_to_the_hand_%28expression%29)" gesture in this case.

Another title considered for this thread was "Qore Dump". But I'm trying to reach a broader audience rather than pleasing the Trekkie crowd . :smallamused:
