Quick question: Is there a handbook or guide of good choices to use Alternate Form for? Thanks!

Alternate form? That a class ability or something? you're going to be more specific.

Isn't Alternate Form specific? Like the succubus one where they simply appear human, or the psuedonatural creatures who turn into tentacle porn.

This is all I can find. Hope it helps.

Oh right, Alter Self. The guide Alleine found would probably be the best one you'll ever come across. However, since the spell AS is type-specific, we'll have to know the creature type of your character (humanoid? monstrous humanoid? outsider? aberration? etc etc etc) to figure out what might be the optimal form to change into.

p.s. Alternate Form is a special ability upon which the said spell is based; I hope it clears the misunderstanding.

p.s.2 There are a few examples in D&D 3.5 where the special ability: Alternate Form may be utilised and thus optimised: If you're playing a silver dragon character and is wondering what animal/humanoid form you should use to fit into the campaign you're playing; or, you're making a lycanthrope character and was hoping to get some hint for optimising the creature.

p.s.3 There are 3 major shapechaning abilities in 3.5- Alternate Form, Change Shape and Shapechange spell and its ilks. They're all different mechanically you know... :smallsigh:

Sorry I was unspecific. I did mean Alternate Form (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/specialAbilities.htm#alternateForm). I've a dragon cohort with it. So, any animal or humanoid Medium or smaller. (Unless there's a way to improve that :smalltongue:)

Thanks everyone!
