Why is it that everyone seems so obsessed with bringing that comic up in every birthday thread? I didn't think it was a bit funny the first time I saw it, and I don't see how it can still honestly be seen as funny. Also, happy birthday, SN.

I dunno, it seems to be tradition. That was the answer I got anyway.
First person to mention cake being a lie gets defenestrated.

If you're going to argue that posting that cartoon's ine due t it being a tradition, couldn't you say the same thing about cake related comments which aren't as annoying?:smalltongue:

Thanks guys. I dunno, I kind of like the comic personally. Although it has been overused. Regardless, I hope you all have awesome days as well.

The cake is a lie.

And Companion Cube couldn't come to the party because you murdered him.

Also, I hope your birthday passes as pleasantly as The Hundred Years War.

I doubt it was because of The hundred Years War, I mean, that happened cenutries ago and I don't think even the most signifigant battles which were fought in those times could have the repercussions of causing Mauve Shirt to throw me out of a window.. It'd be too far-far-far-far. Fetched.

You lie! Mauve's grand - grand - grand - grand - grand father was one of the crossbowmen, you English bastards shot at Crécy! And you know that!
Prepare to die!

Sorry for weirding your birthday thread SN :smallfrown:

May the candles on your cake
Burn like cities in your wake.

CHORUS:
On your birthday! (UHH!)
Happy birthday! (UHH!)

Burn the castle and storm the keep
Kill the women but SAVE THE SHEEP!

Pay attention, you must learn
First you pillage, THEN you burn.

May your deeds with sheep and yaks
Equal those with sword and axe.

Death and gloom and black despair
People dying everywhere.

Birthdays come but once a year
Marking time as Death draws near.

Fear and gloom and darkness but
No one found out YOU KNOW WHAT.

Black Death has just struck your town
You yourself feel quite run-down.

So far death you have bypassed
Don't look back it's gaining fast.

Though you're turning 29
Age to you is like fine wine.

Long ago your hair turned gray
Now it's falling out, they say.

So you've aged another year
Now you know that Death is near.

Were I sitting in your shoes
I'd go out and sing the blues.

Now that you're the age you are
Your demise cannot be far.

At your age most folks go blind
You've kept your sight, but lost your mind.

We, your friends will never tell
That your body has gone to hell.

It's your birthday never fear
You'll be dead this time next year.

We brought linen, white as cloud
Now we'll sit and sew your shroud.

On your birthday!
Happy birthday!

Thank you Solo and Spiryt, very much. *salutes*

What I've always found weird about the hundred years war though is that even though England won all the major battles (Agincourt, Crecy) the French still came out on top.

So, you tell a joke once: it's funny. You tell it again: it's still funny. But by the third time it stops being funny and starts being annoying; then you start to tell it so much that it stops being annoying and starts being funny again ("Your mom." and the like). That's how I see the comic, it's been used so many times that it's almost funny again.

BTW, Happy Birthday Silent Night!!!

I don't know what it is, but eat it anyway.

The thing is that was Hundred years War. Sure after so great victories english claimed a lot of land, etc, etc, but after 5, 10 ,15 years something else happened.

The first time I saw the comic I thought it was hilarious. I still think it's hilarious, but I don't laugh at it because I already know it, it's more of a "Yeah, nice, inner chuckle."

Happy Birthday SN!

Happy AFONAL day.

And the thing why the English lost the war: The French infected the english king Henry VI with a very scarce, hereditary brain disease, by letting his father (Henry V) marry a daughter of the French king.
That was a very cunning and clever plan of the French warlords
