Seriously. They really where looking for a way to make Poisons more useless then 3.5.

Check out the 150000gp level 25 poison. 15 damage each round and weakened, save ends.

So for 150000gp, you can on average not kill a level 1 character. Wow. That's terrible.

Ah, but the poison lasts until the end of the encounter!

So you can on average barely not kill _a lot_ of level 1 characters.

Isn't this a transfer topic from Enwporld?
Anyhoo, it has like +38 hit to Fort so it will work on almost anyone at least.
And on average it will deal 30 damage actually.

If you want scary poisons: use vials of disease: they work much better than 3.5's ever did.

1) Hmm, didn't notice that, was thinking it was still one dose like 3.5, so that explains (part of) the outrageous cost, but none of the fact that it seriously doesn't do even as much damage as a basic attack at that level (not an at-will, a basic attack).

2) I don't know I don't go to ENworld

3) Sorry, I meant 15 damage average against enemies you will actually face at level 25. Who all have +3-8 to saves (yes it's more then 15, it's really 17.5 or whatever, not important.) And with the level ones I was talking about the fact that half of all level 1s will survive when they make their first save (well 55%)

Isn't it damage until end of encounter, save ends vs. the weakened?

If it's "15 ongoing damage and the target is weakened (save ends)" then the weakness goes away on a save.

If it's "15 ongoing damage (save ends) and the target is weakened" then the damage goes away on a save.

If it's "15 ongoing damage and the target is weakened (save ends both)" then both go away on a save.

Too clarify, this poison is going to placed on your sword, which means that when you stab people, they take 15 ongoing ontop of everything else, and you can do this to multiple targets.
