Mostly he has been charging stuff, not sneaking up on it.

What fun will be in it? The funiest thing is to jump on your enemy (or an innocent, in that case) right befor he is pulling out his sword, to hear his last hopeless shout!

It'd almost be in character for Belkar to have taken the bag of tricks instead.
Toss a mouse at the gobbo, stab it while it's confused.

If the ring of jumping hadn't been there, he probably would have.

Belkar generally doesn't sneak--the only other time we've seen him do it is during his fight with Miko.

Luis, most likely yes, since he was able to nail that vulture in mid-flight to make soup. That would take a magically aided jump.

Belkar would rather vivisect his enemies, friends, family, innocent bystanders etc... and turn them into fashionable head gear and tortilla chip bowls than sneak up on them.

As people have said before me, Belkar would rather stab than sneak.

And THAT is what makes Belkar absolutely adorable.
