Where does it say anything about eating dwarves?

And when does that game come out anyway? It sounds cool.

Had it been Gimli instead of Merry and Pippin, LOTR would have ended much differently, at least the Fangorn part.

As I recall, in the book Gimli went to Fangorn with them, and had a conversation that went along these lines:

Ent: "You bring an ax-wielder into my forest?"
Gimli: "My ax is for orcs' necks, not trees."

He lived.

Of course, it's more than 30 years since I read the book, so my memory's fuzzy.

Fuzzy.... but reasonably accurate. Gimli does save his own bacon by emphasizing that his axe is meant for orcs and he doesn't really have any call to chop down trees.

Wow, I can't believe I forgot that, as it's only been a few months since I last read them. Gah.

Well, y'know. Aragorn probably Wild Empathy'd it. Yeah, that make sense.

Isn't his phobia of trees bad enough as it is? Be careful or you might make him scared of the wooden floor boards.
