I am looking for a D&D 3.5 version of BM's (Black Mage) hat shadowy darkness and all. It should be very hard to dispel and does not need any other abilities, though if you can think of some I have an open mind.

ps: if you don't know what I am talking about here (http://www.nuklearpower.com/index.php) you go (http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=010302).

pps: yes I know Black Mage is from final fantasy 1, but please base the item on the comic.

Personnally, I'd make a Warmage. It defines Black magic like none.

I'd add to it some sacrifice related magic and feats, plus Simple Weapon Proficiency (Shiv).

So... you want the hat?

Hat
It covers your head.
It casts a shadow on your face when you wear it.

I think we've found a new signature quote!

Don't forget to add in 10th level spells. That's right, 10th level spells (noticed it's still italicized isn'tthatwonderful?!).

Simple idea for 10th level spell: Hadoken. 'Nuff said.

Simple idea for blue magic spell: Goblin punch.

Now people have to come up with crunch. Multiclassing blue-mage optional.

If you just want something to blast stuff into oblivion, get a warlock. BM doesn't do much else than exploding or stabbing thing (with a rare mention to Feather Fall once)

He can cast other spells, when it suits the comedy.

But... the shadows aren't magic.

They're just shadows.

sigh... Have you seen black Mage's hat? In over 1000 comics while the hat is on, complete darkness covers his face.

Fine.

Hat
It covers your head.
It makes your face dark.
Price: 2,000 more gold than needed.

It's a sprite comic. If you want shadows, make them pitch-black.

Also, the sole purpose of BM's hat is to protect the world from his madness-inducing visage.

New Sigquote for me.
