It's a last name. Like "Dr. DiLabio"

I'm guessing phonetically so either Dee-Labio or dil-abio, just a guess though.

EDIT: The first one isn't really phonetically I think.:smallconfused:

Are you sure you don't mean "diablo"?

If it's DiLabio, and not Dilabio, then we're talking European.

Dee-Lahb-ee-oh, with the Di meaning "from" (as in DiRomano, or DiFlorencio meaning they're from Florence or Rome).

Don't ask him if he's from Labia, or what the weather is like down there.

Also, this all is just my best guess.

Ah yes, sorry, it's DiLabio. Just not sure how to pronounce Labio and hoping I won't slip.

If it's for an interview, and it's not too late, consider calling the company or organization and asking the receptionist or secretary how the person's name is pronounced. I do that occationally at work when I'm dealing with a new client, and also to check the gender of a person with a gender-neutral name before addressing correspondence.

If you can't find out in advance, it's also OK to ask the person how they prefer for their name to be pronounced.

FWIW, I would go with Dih-LAH-Be-Oh as the pronunciation unless I was told otherwise.

Also, there's pronounciation dictionaries.

"Yes, well it's spelled Dilabio but it's pronounced Throat-Warbler Mangrove"

...

"You're a very silly guest and I'm not going to interview you." :smallannoyed:

FWIW, I'd go with the short I. Dih Lah Bee - Oh. But the best thing to do is check with the secretary/mail boy/mistress on the side, as suggested above.
