I heard the news on my way home from work this morning.

The man who gave us "The Seven Words" passed away last night from heart failure.

Here's the CNN story. (http://us.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/06/23/carlin.obit/index.html)

What number was that Trog?

It's a shame, although I'm not overly familiar with his work, I've heard the seven words.

It is a sad day.

And to think, I didn't know I shared a birthday with The Man until he died. :(

Cheers,
Syka

No...

Of course, my first encounter with him was at five years old, when he took over for Ringo Starr as Mr. Conductor on Shining Time Station and narrating the Thomas stories. :smallconfused:

Hope he's happy...stuck up there on the roof.

NOOOOOOO!

I'd just like to echo that sentiment.

No...

He was the Mr. Conductor I grew up with...

I've read all most all of "When's Jesus Going to Bring the Porkchops"

Man, my dad's going to be depressed now. His favorite comedian died. That's like laughter itself dying.

... Man. We've lost Heath, we've lost Gary, and now we've lost George.

Thats it. When I get to Heaven, I better see people giggling at how silly mortal words are and the fact seven were unsayable on television.

Then I'll beg George to play a gnome bard along side me.

Cheers George. If I could get away with typing the words, you know I would.

There's already a thread on this in the Media Discussion section.Nature of the beast. It would never occur to me to read the Media Discussion Forums. I won't be offended if this gets merged though.

As there is already a thread in media discussions, where this is probably more suited, I'm going to close this thread in favour of this one (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83775).
