"Server is too busy" problems

It is problematic: it never used to do this. Can we find out why the server keeps being too busy: site is much more popular? Server has gone a long time without upgrade?

I like the site, and would like seeing threads to be easier.

Well, I might direct you over to this (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83793) thread a bit down the page.

The general consensus seems to be that the "server too busy" message is preferable over the page timing out after 3 minutes of load time during heavy traffic periods (which seems to be most of the time these days).

It's always been this slow. However, the site now tells you so, instead of timing out and causing people to continuously refresh, which tends to crash the server instead of just slowing it down.
