I'm looking for a wiki or similar styled program for the game I'm running which I can use to jot down random details and slowly flesh out the world my players are traveling in. Does anyone know of a good program for this sort of thing?

I'm using Google docs to keep the various writeups I put together about the campaign world in one place. You might also try a free wiki at wetpaint.com.

If you want something online, then www.wikidot.com is pretty good.

I like (and occasionally use) Tiddly Wiki (http://www.tiddlywiki.com/). It's best for notes, NPCs, and plots. Probably not robust enough to store an entire world easily. But the size and lack of a database (the entire wiki is a single web page) make it portable and very good for jotting down quick notes.

I've used Zim Desktop Wiki (http://zim-wiki.org/downloads.html) before. It's pretty good. I've only tried the linux version though - no idea how the windows install is.

There are plenty of wiki hosts, as others have showed. A friend of mine did this once for an online game and it worked very well. He could give us links and references to house rules or setting info. It also gave everyone plenty of reading material which let us get more involved in the setting.
