I swear, I have looked ALL OVER for this [long expletive string censored] monster, due to the fact that I picked up the Jasper Spider figurine. I need to know it's stats! ARGH! An'd I've looked at all my Forgotten Realms stuff too. Does anyone know where it is?

Isn't it after the animals chapter in the monster manual?
A list of Vermin?

Right. Because instead of looking for "Monstrous Spider" in the MM, I would instead instinctively know to look for Vermin.

>_<

Did they make the 4e MM better than the 3.5?

its definitely a little different... I think all things are alphabetical order... including spider...

although with most stats for any base dnd (3.5) thing.. I'd look at www.d20srd.org
it has a pretty elaborate list.

If you looked at the alphabetical list of monsters on page 4 you would have found the entry monstrous spider 288 in a few seconds.
So no, you don't have to instinctively know to look for vermin... :smallwink:

Yeah, I fail. I even went through the bloody ToC, but apparently, I rolled a 1 at my Read check.

it sound to me like you were so intent on looking for it, you just totally skipped over it when you came to it.

That happens a lot when people get in a hurry/desperate/frustrated etc.
