Metaphorical tennis, and my favorite team is Winchester United. (Winchester seems a rich source of metaphorical tennis players.) Pity the team was so short-lived; they really did have a good balance going.

Er, yeah, don't mind me, had to say something in accordance with the Adult Swim schedule.

But seriously, I'm curious: in a fairly geeky community, which sport will prevail?

I'll go with baseball, personally. I've only followed it for brief flurries, but boy howdy did I ever follow it in those flurries. I could cite my slight American jingoism, or the Curse of the Bambino, but ultimately, I think it has to do with the fact that kickball is the only sport I was any good at in gym class.

Internets. I play internets.

...And the silver ball.

...Seriously? I don't care much for most sports... Cricket or football would be the two I have a passing interest in though, I suppose.

(Football as in the one where you kick the ball with your feet. Not the one where you pick it up with your hands.)

Extreme sports, like parajumping or bungeejumping, or going on a flaming rollercoaster.

Yes, I am a adrenaline freak.

I like to play football, although from some I play rarely.

Air gunn shooting, if this is sport.

Sailing. Yay! The wind whistling through the rigging as the salty spray is thrown up by the mighty prow. It's fun. And you can do it whilst sitting down and/or sleeping/sunbathing.

Yeah...not good at any other sport.

I generally just play the fool...

But I quite like a bit of a kick-around at football now and then (soccer for americans)...

I must put in a vote for Kubb as the official sport of the playground (see badge in my sig trophy case). It involves sticks, so what game is more appropriate for readers of the Order of the Stick?

I am partial to tennis, archery, and gymnastics, to watch anyhow. I enjoy taking tennis lessons, though.

Egg likes rugby, kendo, karate and MMA. I only like my territorial violence slightly sublimated thanks.

soccer,

Soccer.

Have mercy for me.

Football!

More seriosusly, I don't get it. Football is football, beacuse we are playing mainly with our feet, or legs at least. American "Football" is variation of Rugby, therefore whole body is important, but legs aren't so vital. Hands have main contact with ball.

So why this weird naming?

The best sport ever is clearly chess.

I like American Football, but I have to go with Raldor here. The Playground's sport is Kubb.

I'm partial to the Triathlon myself  Come on, it is three sports in one! I enjoy both watching and competing.

Other than that, Ultimate Frisbee and, as of the Southeast Meet-up, Kubb.

Here I was going to say Kubb only to find that twothree others that were at the meet-up have already beaten me to it. Oh well... I guess I'll just go sulk in the corner now...:smallsigh:

Anyway I'm rather fond of sword play, Tae Kwon Do, and football.

Motorcycle racing, plain and simple. I mean, seriously, how can it not be loved? It's... racing, on a motorcycle.

Pure win. (or lots of bias)
