In english: the Original Trilogy (the Prequels somewhat less so) still hold a place in my heart. Iron Man is right up their and is definitely my favorite this year.

Foreign films: Dragons Forever and Gorgeous (both starring Jackie Chan; what can I say, I'm a Chan nut.) top my list here. Both are home to some of my favorite fight scenes in cinema, too.

Well, its pretty much impossible to name a favorite movie, but I have favorites depending on genre...

War Movies: The Longest Day, Gettysburg, 300?

Fantasy: Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Neverending Story, 300?

Disney Cartoon: The Lion King and Aladdin

Comedy: Anchorman and The 40 Year Old Virgin

Cartoon: Cowboy Bebop, Knocking on Heaven's Door (I dislike 90% of anime though)

Action: Die Hard, Sin City, 300?

Adventure: Tie between the first three Indiana Jones Movies

Science Fiction: Original Star Wars Trilogy (I was able to accept the prequels.) I also enjoy some of the Star Trek movies, though I'm not much of a ST fan.

Musicals: The Sound of Music, Rent, and Cats (I'm straight, but like musical theatre more than a straight man should... I'm actually looking forward to seeing Mamma Mia!...)

Foreign (To America): Amelie, Life is Beautiful, Der Krieger und die Kaiserin, Lola Rennt, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Goodbye Lenin!, The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser. I have a strong passion for German cinema of the 20th and 21st century. I even took a semester college course dedicated solely to German film.

Serenity.
Also good are Rent, Mirrormask and Stardust, but Serenity tops the list.

I just saw Goodbye Lenin! yesterday with my little brother Alek. I loved that masterfully-shot scene with the helicopter and the statue. Some downright ****ing majestic camerawork right there.

Have you seen much else by Werner Herzog? I didn't respond as much to The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser as to his other films.

I love much of Herr Herzog's work! Have you seen Grizzly Man? That was an amazing piece of documentary work he did.

But I also enjoy Heart of Glass, Invincible, and Rescue Dawn.

The film version of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, but I'm not quite sure why I love it so much.

Other close ones are Serenity, American History X, and the old Super Mario Brothers movie (which I've come to understand is nearly universally reviled).
