Swordmaster's review of Dead or Alive Four

So I'm here to talk about Dead or Alive 4 or DOA4, When I first got DOA4 I was excited, the previous DOAs have been boatloads of awesome, but when I began playing I was in for a rude awakening. Don't get me wrong DOA 4 is a solid game once you unlock all the characters. Survival mode is fun time and time again, and versus mode is competitive, fast pased and excellent. However trying to get all of the characters or unlock anything will make you want to vomit, I know I wanted to on several occasions.
Listen, the difficulty level of the story mode is off the charts, sure it's fine for the first few matches, I mean nothing special, but in the later fights the CPU begins to fight dirty with waves of impassable counters and holds that no human player can pull off. And finally an impossible cherry on this frustrating sundae is the the final boss of most character's story modes. This blue demon is so hard to beat that you may wish to hop in the game itself wielding a semi automatic machine gun and murder the blue B&*%! of course your efforts would be in vain because she would dissapear telaport behind you and snap your neck off. The truth about the final boss is that her moves are twice as powerful as yours, she is twice as fast and you and she can instantly telaport anytime you come close to hitting her.
Now if you think that is hard, then I don't suggest even trying to play the Time Attack mode. I don't know why it's called the time attack mode because all it is is basically story mode except you play 2 out of three for all enemies, oh and each character's final boss is the blue lady. The time attack mode is nearly impossible, and you must beat it with all 21 characters to unlock the final character. Truly you will go insane if you play this game. I suggest you don't play this game if you have pets or family members you wish to remain alive, because you will murder them. I also don't recommend this game to anyone who has belongings they like un-smashed. Oh and if you plan on playing this game I suggest having lots of extra cash with which to purchase new controllers. Oh and a soundproof glass bubble as not to disturb the neighbors with your cries of anguish. I would only recommend this game to insanly hardcore gamers, lonely but wealthy homeless people, or angsty teenagers, oh and anyone hoping for an excuse to kill someone. All in all I give this game a 9...

out of 100

In the end all I have to say is this "team ninja, what the f%&@?"

So just because the ending boss is hard earns it a bad review.

Seems kind of pathetic to me. I mean really, your biggest complaint is the end boss? Well I have news for you; ending bosses in fighting games tend to be quite difficult and very overpowered. It’s their only real way of giving a player a challenging.

I’ve been playing fighting games since their inception and this is nothing new. So please save it for when you have something interesting to whine about.

(Seriously do people know how to write good reviews anymore without whining?)

ok, I don't really care what you think.

So why should we care about what YOU think?

Nope you don’t have to care about what I think.

However by posting on a public Internet forum strongly suggests that you want people to:

A: respond to the thread you created

B: care about what you think.

C: agree or disagree with what you think

But to be fair and answer your question. No I haven’t played that particular incarnation of DOA. However I’ve been playing fighting games since they first hit the arcades (including all the other versions of DOA) and the above has been the status quo for fighting game bosses. Difficult to the point of wanting to break something.

Seems to me that you’re just bitching at the Internet to blow some steam, and since I was the first one to respond to your thread, you’re now venting at me.

Also I haven’t agreed or disagreed with what you said, mainly because I haven’t had the opportunity to play it for myself. I just get a little annoyed when I read a so-called “review” and its nothing more than someone ranting about how hard a game is.

then don't. This wasn't meant to be a real review, I don't consider myself a game expert like you obviously do, but if it matters that much to you Ill change the title.

Snk boss syndrome (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SNKBoss) is a bitch ain't it.

True dat.

And From what I've heard, DoA 4 is worse then DoAX. And if a game is worse then an "extreme" game (it'sally porn, or so I've been told) it must not be great.

And also: As has been said, the internet is public. We don't know each other, but we can still be civil. Please guys, try to except comments with an open mind rather than "I don't care".
