I noticed from Crystalkeep(from Races of Eberron) that there was a variant for dual specialization for Changelings and wanted to mix that with the focused specialist variant. This would require that I ban three schools for the former and an additional school for the latter as far as I can tell.

I also noticed another Changeling variant was the morphic familiar at 5th level, meaning that I could change my familiar to any other 1st level familiar anytime I wanted, but I'm unsure if the Improved Familiar feat would allow me to morph familiars to the "improved" versions too.

Any ideas for improvements or clarifications greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing you would need to bar another school to use Focussed Specialist with that race. I'm pretty certain that Improved Familiar would allow you to change your familiar into the Improved version of another familiar as well.

Now this is an issue. the prereq for Focused specialist is to have the ability to specialise. And you lose your ability to specialise when you take the Changeling Alternate class feature. This is by RAW. But you can always talk to your DM and tell him that since you are specialising in dual schools, it should qualify.

And that familiar thing should work perfectly. Just that Imp familiars ****ing pwn everybody.

I thought Dual Specialisation classed as specialisation. If you did use that build, you'd need to be very careful due to how many schools you'd be giving up.
