I haven't talked to Emerald Rose about my announcing this, but here we go...

ER and I have another baby (our second) on the way, due in January.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!

As I recall, you'll have a reasonable gap between your two, which might cut rivalry down a bit. For a while. :smallamused:

Many congratulations to you both!

But let me tell you, sibling rivalry is actually worse the larger the gap.
Five years between me and Little Sister and we fight every day. Up to and surpassing 'Don't make me take away your [swearword] books! I swear to God I'll do it!"

If it's another boy be prepared for fights and 'accidental' toy throwing at each other.

Dallas-Dakota
2008-07-23, 09:46 AM
If its another boy. Be prepared.

When my brother and I were 6 and 9, I accidentally jumped on his wrist.
Can't remember if it was broken or simply twisted or such...

Yes, I have had to go back to unleaded again :smalltongue: There are days it is tough, but most of the time I'm so exhausted anyway that it doesn't make any difference.

@ MF: I'm mostly feeling tired, though there has been a huge amount of stress and anxiety. Next appt is on Tuesday. Things are going pretty well this time.

A new baby? Congratulations, blast fax kudos all around!

Any name ideas yet?

But let me tell you, sibling rivalry is actually worse the larger the gap.

I'm 7 years older than my brother and we get along pretty well. But the age gap was so much that we never really did anything together.

Congratz Adre and ER!

Now to add to your parenting advice:

X stop hitting Y!
Y, didn't I just tell X not to do that? Then why are you!
You can tell me anything... WHAT???

 Best of Luck.

So, the baby's coming in January. Is that how long it's taking to order one? If so, why not go down to the store to buy one?

On a totally serious note, my dad used to tell me babies came from the grocery store. And then he'd joke I came from the bargain bin of defective babies, and when they got me home, all I did was lie around on my belly, so they thought about returning me.

I can't wait to traumatize my own children with this stuff. :smallamused:

I mean...ummm...Congratulations! May it be a healthy specimen that survives the experiments...

Wait. I messed up again, didn't I? :smallconfused:

I want good things for your child...like superpowers. Perhaps bathing it regularly in a vat of toxic waste?

*sigh*

Maybe I should just leave it at "Congratulations" instead of demonstrating my would-be skills at being a parent? :smalltongue:

I'm quite sure the kids will be D&Der's, after all ER only married Andre for the experience. At least, that's what her shirt said.

Congrats again guys! That at least explains the tremors I felt a few months ago at my house around 3am.

Which reminds me of a joke....

Hm...
I'm the fourth of five childer.
My mother is 50-something. Totally gray.
My father is... 52? His hair hasn't changed since he was 20. Not length, not style... It's kinda creepy.

*smacks Collin* Bad Collin! No soup for you!

And can there be any doubt our children will be gamers? Our son already has more swords than most adults do...granted they're plastic, but still.

How many would believe that Andre has actually suggested Kelda or Emerald Rose for a girl?

Or maybe Andre for a boy?

I recommend the name Aurora for a girl.
Or a guy. Break the mold!

Nychta
2008-07-28, 01:55 AM
eeek no please.

Aurora is a name difficult to pronounce if someone else speaks only Chinese (I tested all of these on my friend) and this could possibly piss your child off really badly.

So I suggest Ni! And then you can knight your child. And then you will have a Knight (of) Ni!

That's not nessecarily true. My sister tormented me until I was 12, when I was finally bigger then her.
She beat me with a force FX lightsaber once...to be fair I came at her with it and she took it, but its the fact she beat me with it!
