This is... difficult.

Can't decide between Miko's rockbottom moment, Belkar mocking her off or V's awesomeness.

Hmmm... V for Vaarsuvius here. 424, it is.

I'm a sucker for plot. 406.

So good ones here, but 406 is just too important.

Ramien

Let's see... 406 had a perfect 'Holy crap!' moment, and certainly ended strongly. On the other hand, 419 had both Belkar, and the one instance I actually cheered for Miko, or at least approved of her actions.

Eh, I'll go with the cheap laughs almost every time, so 419.

Kato

Hm... hm... I think I'll go for 406 for plot importance... yeah, 406 it is. Though the other's are just as great.

419 because of the sheer awesomeness of Belkar, Sabine, and Miko.

406.

Thank you

401

Might seem less "important" compared to the others, but I just love that strip.

I'm so hesitating between 401 and 424, but the "paper beats rock" is so awesome.

so 424 it is.

I vote 406 for drama.

(V was main contender)

I have to vote the way of my conscience. 401 for me. A more upbeat comic just cannot be found (at least, not until the end of the story anyways).

Have Fun!

401 it is!

My vote is for 406, for the great exposition of zeal-gone-wrong. 424 is a close second for the well-built punchline.

401. I thought it was the funniest of them all.

419 one of my all-time favorites.

The funny ones always seem to beat plot ones. Anyway, I love the plot, especially in this part, so my vote goes to 406.

Let's see... 401 and 406 are both important for the plot, and 413 is the funniest. But 419 has both humor and plot-importance, plus it shows Miko getting her comeuppance, plus it also shows Sabine getting her comeuppance, from Miko of all people. So I'll have to go with the special pre-approved offer.

Much though I like Vaarsuvius, 424 is the only one I didn't consider a contender. It seemed to hang too much on that one cheap joke at the end.

419 for me.

... and then Nazzo said:

"Let the thread be bumped!"

And all the nonbelievers were called to vote, for that gathering was too important to be left catching dust.

Sure, there are some really important plot moments here. 406 just barely has my vote. But...

401 it is.

Funny with a great way to wrap up the story arcs, a smooth transition into the next one.

424. Vaarsuvius in action sells it.

419. Cause there's friendly contact with an evil outsider, and then there's "Friendly contact with an evil outsider"

406 cuz I love the plot, but 424 was also close in its pure awesomeness.

Hmm. 406 for plot, or 419 for humor? It's too bad 407 isn't in this, or my choice would be easy.

I think I have to go with 406, though.

seconded. all of it.... althought i did like 413 a lot so it's a close second for me....

I'm going for 413. The mixture of plot-relevant issues and meta-gaming humour just seems right.

All very nice, especially the last one with V in action, but
I vote 401 "no magical portals under your bed".

I'm torn between 401 and 406. The first made me laugh like crazy every single panel, the second is spectacular in plot, character and tension.

I'll go 406.

Because I think 419 definitely shouldn't win. A mediocre strip at best.

Truly, V does not get nearly enough kickassery, but this is one of those moments.

Figures. I call 419 a weakling in the group of five and it wins. I call 419 the runt of this group and it places second and looked to be actually challenging 406's hegemony at points. I figure 413 has the funniness quota locked up and its downfall will be competing with 401 and it turns out to be the runt and doesn't get its first vote until Nazzo's bump. Can someone throw me a bone with their favorites of the current hundred? Specifically of the first half of the current hundred from 501 to 550? So I might have some idea of what to look for? Because I STILL don't see why 419 is THIS strong. Though the post quoted at the start of the second page gives a pretty good case.

The next quarter is the best quarter of this hundred and possibly of all of OOTS so far. In any other quarter, this (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0439.html), this (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0445.html), and this (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0449.html) would be shoo-ins to move on to BotH, and I wouldn't be considering calling this (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0430.html) or this (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0435.html) a runt. Especially 435, but its Belkar-vote base is likely to desert it for the Sexy Shoeless God of War. No matter what else comes out of the other quarters, whoever comes out of this round has to be a serious contender for the Hundred, simply from being able to survive such strong competition.

I have no way of knowing which of the three has more pull with the audience, and 430 or 435 winning or even coming in second is the only thing that would surprise me, but 445 does have the advantage that 430 might pull a couple of museum votes away from 449 (although 449 should have more than enough votes from other constituencies), and 435 will pull a couple of Belkar votes away from 439.

406, that one really shocked me, even though I was expecting something bad to happen...
