So for our final shebang before school and college breaks up our gaming group, my friends and I have decided to hold a final adventure. My dad thought to run Tomb of Horrors with him as the DM and then the rest of us as the characters. So form you guys, The Playground {/deep resonating voice}, I need 2 characters at the moment. I need them both to be level 13. One is a warmage/war wizard...he just wants a blasty-caster. And one is the biggest, baddest big bad guy around. I was thinking fallen pally with a nightmare granted to him by his demonic masters to replace his lost mount. Anyone care to help me? I will need these by next friday. And I am gone or working most of the time so I call upon you to assist.

I stumbled upon this site pretty recently - d20 NPC Wiki (http://d20npcs.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page).

Here's some that could work for you, if no one else comes up with anything specifically tailored to your needs. They're all really close, give or take a level or race.

-Human Wizard 14 (http://d20npcs.wikia.com/wiki/Sorin_Macer%2C_Human_Wizard_14) (just lose one level and your set)
-Half-Elf Wizard 12 (http://d20npcs.wikia.com/wiki/Sirelanon) (has a lot of Evocation spells, just add one level)
-Drow Warmage 12 (http://d20npcs.wikia.com/wiki/Drow_Warmage/12) (change the race and add a level of Wizard if the player doesn't want to be a Drow).
-Human Paladin 7/Blackguard 7 (http://d20npcs.wikia.com/wiki/Lord_Oruk_Dukhast%2C_Human_Fallen_Paladin_-_Paladin_7_/_BlackGuard_7) (just lose one level of Blackguard or something)

ToH? Yeah, you need a Rogue. Or at least someone with trapfinding. You'll need someone who can find a trap. Elven Rogue.

I was under the impression that when one played ToH, pretty much any character could act as a trap finder, since the way one locates most traps is by activating them?

If you were asking us to make characters for you. That might be a little hard..based on the ideas as we don't have a base for ability scores. I would suggest going one or the other however with the wizard/warmage. As It would be easier not having to have 2 Strong ability scores.. (charisma + Intelligence). I'd take wizard over warmage... even though Warmages have higher hit die and can wear armor... Wizards get meta-magic feats for just taking the class. I'd look at the meta-magic "sudden" feats.
"sudden enlarge" or "sudden maximize". They're a little different and they pack a whole ball of fun

Pretty much. I think someone recommended leadership or mad summoning skills for trapfinding, since that gives you a bunch of disposable types with which to "scout" ahead.

Bandar, awakened monkey wizard with a cute little fez.
He rests upon the shoulders of his mute cohort with a thick black beard and a full arabian outfit. Could also be a paladin but i think wizard works bettewr for the concept; change the cohort to a knightish looking fellow.

"Great wizard lord bandar, i presume" Extends hand to the man with the turban
"A pleasure to meet you", says the monkey who extends his hand to the PC

Yewg Onadie, orc barbarian who dual wields with a battleaxe and a warhammer (oversized two weapon fighting) and often mistakes people saying his full name for a threat on his life.

"Me yewg onadie"
"you gonna die?"
"ARE YOU THREATENING ME?"

A Psion with Astral Construct could be useful. You'd send a lot of 1 PP Constructs to their horrible doom.

OK, I am back from a bible camp that I had to leave for (I had to help plan it) and we are running the 5d6 throw out 2 for the two characters. I will be running the rest of the party ( I have already run ToH...with no deaths :smallcool:) members but those two will make all of the choices for the party, thus eliminating my better knowledge of the dungeon.

Yea I was wondering if someone here would care to create some. I know that some people enjoy doing so. But thanks for the website, still if anyone wishes to make a character feel free to do so, just PM me with any questions you might have about the characters/creation rules.

That one reserve feat that lets you summon elementals would be very good here.

Elemental Summoning Reserve Feat + Permanencied Arcane Sight (Detect Magic also works).

An Earth Elemental will trigger basically any mechanical trap of note; anything discriminating enough not to go off on the Earth Elemental will be magical (in which case, you can find it with Arcane Sight), or an actively-triggered weapon by an actual creature (in which case, it's a creature encounter, not a trap encounter). A Wizard-9 can pull it off just fine. Can do so earlier, too, but that burns through wands fairly quickly.
