So with the magic seeds can we define them ourselves or are you going to define them in more detail latter on?. [Note: This player desperately wants night vision:smalltongue:]

Yes you can define them yourselves, I still want the creativity of the players to play a MAJOR role in this rp.

Another question that might be made.
How exactly do you wanty to do skills, and if any what sort of D would you like to use.

My concept is a sniper who provides covering fire for the group whilst the move as well as sentry duty when they rest, so that means ability to fire rapidly but also accurately as well as being able to climb to high vantage points easily.

The night vision I would assume comes under supernatural powers, perhaps later it can evolve to give a range of diffrent visions for example heat vision, telescopic vision, zombie/evil thingy vision. etc.

As for what system I have no real preference as I have no experience of anything other than the d20 system.

Hmm, I see your ability starts out a mere Darkvision but then it evovle into soomething cool like heatvision, and detect undead/ detect evil I see where this is going, but as for the D20 system they only have d20 modern (blech.)
and D20 future for stuff related to advanced fire arms, Say we continue with the d20 thingg but use the skill list already presented, as well as the free from seed rules?

I'm fine with that set-up (I didn't realise we were going to be using levels when I made my skill suggestion).

Well I'm doing this enitrely off the top of my head so I'm not sure exactly, what we should do, I just want a sytem that the players would like. (Free form seemed to have so much interest, even sneak, and bayar got in on it.)

Sorry for the double post, but this needs seperate attention.
I have noticed that everyone here has seperate ideas, on what system that should be used, in my experiance d10 provides slightly less reliance on chance while also having a greater PASS/EPIC FAIL ratio, while d6 tends to be more reliable when you are making multiple rolls. d20 has the benifet of being a magnificent die, and hodling fond memories in all our hearts but to be honest it is FAR to relaint on chance, it makes the casino games look easy, if they uised d20s in there we'd all be broke.

Well, myself ive only had experience in the d20 system, never played/looked at anything else, so i may need a quick intro to d6 and d10, but i really dont care what dice rolling system we do use, the skills, are you thinking something like the dnd 3.5 where at each level you get so many skill points, or the 4e where at the start you select so many then go with it and they level up as you do? Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

also i figured ill post it here, but how do you feel about minor shapeshifting? as in, my character is going to be half horse/human, light fur and a tail, minor shapeshifting from that to a centaur, how would you feel about that? or would that (and what others could do with it,) be a bit overpowered for this setting? If it is its no big deal, maybe a possible limitation of because such a change is so stressful can only do it like once or twice a day (going from one form to another counts as one)

A quick question about seeds...do you have to buy a primary and secondary with the 5 points you have, or could you buy one primary and one bonus, or two primaries, or two secondaries, etc.?

Also, I don't really have much experience with d-anything games, even d20 (never really played any tabletop RPGs at all), but I'm willing to try anything out.

You start out with 5 points, and you spend 3 on your primaray seed, and 2 on your secondary seed, at a later time, I will deem if you recived a Seed point.

I must say I'm a bit confused, I though it would be a standard "few random blokes escape zombies" thing, and now it seems that we'll have a centaur. :smallwink:

I'll try to put some character together tommorow. Those "Seeds'' are stuff listed in SMBG thread, yes?

Indeed, Tempest, and Exeson helped me make it.

Perhaps it would be an idea to post the seed rules here as well, along with the skill system suggestions, to make sure that everything is in one thread and avoid needlessly jumping between threads?

The seeds.

Yes, I'm actually gonna make a point system on which you buy your supernatural abilities, they will be divided into the following catagories.
You see it works like crafting epic magic you select a "seed", and you continue from there, you have 5 points to spend, the base seed cost 2, the secondary costs 2-3, and a bonus seed costs 1
Base seeds
Physical: effecting the physical world, and doing damage, or hindering something in someway
Mental: Mind affecting
Spirit: Having to do with the supernatural, and such. (This is where your ability falls Tempest.)
secondary or elemental seeds.
Fire: If I have to tell you go back to pre-school
Water: same as above
Wind: same
Gravity: spefically effecting the gravitational pull of the earth in relation to a object.
Light: holy magicks, the smite the demon or healing speel type of things.
Darkness: Necromancy, death effects, and off course shadows. (HEAVILY LIMTED.)
Time: The whole space time continum thing.
Spirit: Angels magic falls under this catagory, only to be used if you are either a celesital or fiendsh being.
Bonus seeds
Empowered, the powers related to this seed are exceptionally powerful.
At will: Special: this bonus seed costs three points: Self explanatory.

So I could theoretically take something like Physical+Fire+Empowered and create a power which would enable me to burn a group of zombies, AKA fireball?

Yes, an also everyone in your backstories please include some reason why you would be on a train that day I'ma gonna post one for those to lazy top write it themselves.

The tales of the forsaken.
Three days ago you recived a strange letter, saying that if you followed its directions EXPLICITLY, you would recieve the ultimate in rewards, beyond anything in your wildest imagination, and telling you that once you got off the train that you would meet up with a certain indivudal, who would explain more. (it's a random charecter for each, and everyone who uses this backstory.). You threw the letter onto the hotel bed, and dressed yourself in whatever you felt was appropriate for the ccasion, and being the paranoid bastard/whore you are you also decided to pack, a magnum/pistol. You then straightned your tie as you went down the second story stairs, and into the basement parking lot, turning off your car alarm as you approached your ferrari (you can have any car you want I dont really care as it will have gone kablam a long time ago before you come back to the stoery important motel.) You got into the plush seats, and drove out of the lot paying the ridculos parking fee because you were to lazy to take it out last night, you drove through the town the sun shining brightly over head, and the traffic was hell. By the time you got there you were twenty minuets late but for some reason the train hadn't left yet. (you then do what you want on the train.)

Ive got a problem here. My guy doesnt care for all this super natural stuff, hes just a bit guy, with big fists. Would it be exceptable for me to just take physical and at will, giving myself incredibly hard punches or is that to far over the line.

Well, onasuma, I somewhat share this approach, but some subtle and refined stuff will be just all right, I think. No fire out of hands, but more interesting stuff.
