Outraged by the lack of two-sided weapons (and the inability to do my Darth Maul impersonation), I've come up with a rule to work them into the game.
Weapon Property: Two-Sided
You treat a two-sided weapon as if you are wielding a weapon in each hand. Additionally, you can not attack with both sides of the weapon in the same turn, unless you have a power that lets you do so, but you can attack with either side.
Also, a magic two-sided weapon costs twice as much to buy or enchant. However, if you start at an advanced level, a two-sided weapon only takes up the slot of one free magic item.
Example: Steve is creating a Lv. 25 paladin and he wants a +5 Holy Avenger Two-sided sword. He may select it as his Lv. 25 magic item.
Two-Handed Military Melee Weapons
{table=head]Weapon|Prof|Damage|Range|Price|Weight|Group|Proper ties
Swallow|+2|1d8/1d8|-|30 gp|7 lb.|Light Blade|Two-sided, Small
Two-Handed Superior Melee Weapons
{table=head]Weapon|Prof|Damage|Range|Price|Weight|Group|Proper ties
Two-Sided Sword|+3|1d10/1d10|-|45 gp|10 lb.|Heavy Blade|Two-sided
Double-Sided Axe|+2|1d12/1d12|-|50 gp|18 lb.|Axe|Two-sided
Urgosh|+2|1d10/1d8|-|45 gp|16 lb|Axe, Spear|Two-sided
Rules Errata
Dwarven Weapon Training: You do not gain proficiency with Doube-Sided Axe
Eladrin Soldier: You do not gain proficiency with the Urgosh
What do you think?
