Do you think Pete can be trusted? I've got a feeling he'll betray them in return for allowing him to get his eyes healed.

It's quite possible, but so far we don't have much evidence either way. Haley clearly trusts him, and Haley is especially shrewd on the subject of trust. (The one exception was when Nale asked her out, but of course she was half-desperate then and hardly on her guard. Back in her home city she's likely to be going nuts with paranoia.)
It does make sense to a degree, I'll give you that. (I kinda like the poor fellow though. :smallfrown:)

Old Blind Pete will not betray them, at least not right away. Right now they are too easily trapped. Since Crystal plans on just doing lethal things to Haley, Old Blind Pete would only betray Haley under circumstances where she has an improbable way to escape.
We might have Old Blind Pete do some dickering over the price of selling Haley out, and Haley learning of this just in time some way that allows her to escape with the Guild in close pursuit. But while she is trapped in a basement room, she is safe.

Blind Pete lost his eyes to the Thieves' Guild so I'm not exactly sure he'll be willing to help them. Maybe if they were to torture him.

Meh, I've also wondered in the beginning, but I think Haley knows whom to trust... Though, there's probably still the possibility. But I don't think so... He's probably smart enough not to try business with the thieves guild, hehe.

I have to side with the people that are saying Haley's Sense Motive is too high to not recognize an incoming betrayal.

I really hope he doesn't, but it is a possibility that he will.

So much for the question on which level Crystal is.

So Haley and the other now sleep in the fantasy version of a panic room?

Besides he also knew here parents

The best dramatic effect for betrayal is if they're right about to or just have resurrected Roy. Having him betray them before they can even meet the cleric is anti-climatic.

Well, that is probably not much help. He hasn't seen [in any sense] her or her dad in years, and probably not Mom either.

Now we do learn that Haley grew up in this town, and the name of her mother. So we are getting a little background there.

Well, there's that question answered.

Geeze, Ron. You must have rolled a natural 20 on your sense motive.

Maybe he made his Knowledge (What just happened) check.

He made this thread back when we first saw Old Blind Pete. :smallconfused:

Beh, if you have a million monkeys making guesses, it's likely one will come up with the works of Rich Burlew.

For guessing the whole thing, we have not enough monkeys. For a single strip, it's nearly certain SOMEONE will get it right -- but in the crowd of bad guesses, it doesn't make the strip any less of a surprise.

Still, he guessed right. That's gotta count for something.

I don't care what the others say. I'm impressed.

Naa, he just traveled back in time after seeing today's strip, so he could post a right theory.
Congratulation. It's the most accurate guess I've seen so far.

True, but it's not like this sort of betrayal is rare. In fact, it may be the majority result in fiction.

For a somewhat tougher test, try predicting how Haley is going to escape.

Remove curse on Belkar, followed by sitting back with a piña colada and watching the blender at work.

...I can dream, can't I?

Really? If you could travel back in time a couple weeks you'd use it in order to garner an infinitesimal amount of clout with a handful of people on a message board on the internet? You wouldn't, like, give yourself the winning lottery numbers for the following week?

People have strange priorities.

Perhaps. But we still have to see how it plays out; the double-cross could turn out to be a triple-cross.

Yes, but will Belkar's intestines finally win their independence? And escape the tyranny of halfling digestion. FREEDOM! :smalltongue:

Wait! We should make sure that he's a witch before burning him. Do you know if he weighs the same as a duck?
