The comedian, Bernie Mac, has departed us... The chicago born comedian died at 50, early this mourning of pneumonia... He left behind his family, and least of all had 2 movies in post-production...
Rest in Peace.

Wait, what?! Bernie Mac?!
:smalleek:
I never watched his shows, but I often glimpsed his stuff while flicking through channels, so I ended up seeing him a lot on the screen.
But dang, he's passed away? :smalleek:

Mhm. I never saw any of his TV show(s) (well maybe a few bits and pieces here and there... and it seemed pretty funny) but his stand-up was good.

[...] early saturday mourning, of pneumonia...
And I think he had an out standing lung condition since the 80s.

It was pneumonia, presumably a side effect of his long-term sarcoidosis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarcoidosis).
It's a shame. His standup was generally a little blue for my tastes, but I thought that his TV series was very entertaining.

Wow! I just read that on CNN. Totally caught me off guard. :smalleek: I didnt even read about him being sick. My fave movies with Bernie Mac are probably the Ocean series, it was an ensemble cast but he did good there I always thought.

I was never a big fan of Bernie Mac, but 50 is far too young to go. RIP.
How much does this suck I ask you? I loved the Bernie Mac show. The guy was way too young to die. :smallfrown:

Yeah :frown: That being said, it sorta brings to mind a certain song by The Pianoman... It almost always holds True...
:elan:I'd rather laugh with the sinners, then Die with the saints, 'cause the sinners are much more fun... oh, only the good die young . :smallfrown:.
One last time,
Rest in Peace, Mr. Mac.

It's been a weird week in Bernie Mac news - earlier this week, when he went into the hospital for pneumonia (which, according to a publicist, wasn't related to his lung disease) there were rumors that he had died. A couple of days ago, his people released a message that said, "He's not dead - he's in the hospital for pneumonia, but we expect a full recovery." Then, of course, he passed away early this morning (I think - it could have been last night).
I've been trying to tell people about it all day, but no one believed me upon first telling. :smallsigh:

That's terrible news. I didn't realize he was so "old", but 50 is way too young to go. I never watched his show (I was surprised, when reading up about him, that it ran for more than 100 episodes and won a Peabody) but I did enjoy most of the movies he was in. He will be missed.
