Dragonfire Adept and Metabreath Feats

Quick question about metabreath feats:

It says in the Draconomicon that Metabreath feats are only available to creatures with breath weapons whose delay between uses is expressed in rounds. Does this mean that a Dragonfire Adept, whose breath weapon is at will, can pick them up? Essentially, is the Dragonfire Adept's breath weapon a "Wait 0 rounds between each use" breath weapon?

I'm toying with the idea of metabreath feats for a character I'm currently creating, and wondered if this works.

Your breath weapon is not set in rounds, meaning you can't take the feats.

However, any DM that says you can't take them is a complete retard. If your DM doesn't let you, you can try these work arounds:

Take a class/race(say, Dragonborn) that gives you a breath weapon and apply it to your DFA's.

Take the Power Surge feat
Power Surge is a feat in the Beholder section of Dragon #313, which allows you to modify a supernatural ability (one that has a minimum of 3/day uses) in a number of ways:

* You can increase the damage by +1 per die
* Increase the DC by +1
* Increase the duration by +50% (not applicable to effects with an instantaneous duration)

It forces you to wait one round before using the ability again. Why is that important? Because, taking it means that you now have a breath weapon with a recharge rate expressed in rounds, which opens up all of the breath weapon FEATS from Draconomicon! Best of all, it can’t be argued with – it works perfectly, both in terms of RAI and RAW.
